White Trash Party - 2011-09-04

For the kid eating the "paint". I know it's edible for TV but still.

Mancakes - 2011-09-04

Christian cosplay blackface pedo bukkake. Fap?

dek863 - 2011-09-04

Christian humor.

StanleyPain - 2011-09-04

Why did Jesus have me dubbed?

big pincers - 2011-09-06

for you

boner - 2011-09-04

Psalty: "I just blue myself"

Explodotron - 2011-09-04

Birth of a Nation? Really?

Bort - 2011-09-05

That's the part that got me: are they dogwhistling to some segment of the audience that are unabashed fans of "Birth of a Nation"? Most likely they're fans of the Platonic ideal of BoaN, where whites were victims of minorities 100 years ago AND IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN. Get too resentful and pretty soon you get stupid.

Quad9Damage - 2011-09-05

Yeah, what the fuck was that? I mean I saw the tag before I got to that part, but I just assumed it was a joke because the walking songbook kind of looked like he was wearing blackface.

dead_cat - 2011-09-06

Are so many of Psalty's target audience total racists that they figured this would get a lot of laughs? And is the show aimed at those people? Because, fuck, that wasn't humorous. It wasn't even pun-funny.

Syd Midnight - 2011-09-09

Some of the writers were probably 80-90 years old. I haven't heard a line in a Psalty clip that would have seemed anachronistic in 1925.

Bort - 2011-11-23

It seems there's another possibility: complete and appalling ineptitude of the production team. They heard the title "Birth of a Nation" but know nothing about it (I'll give you a minute to wrap your mind around the idea of under-educated Christian entertainment writing staff), and they thought "Bertha Vanation" was a genuinely clever pun on its own merits.

Or they're dogwhistling to bigots, it could go either way.

dead_cat - 2011-09-04

I see the guy playing the bookmonster has stopped wearing all the facial prosthetics. Like the blue paint will ever come out of his beard.

kingofthenothing - 2011-09-04

Square jaw underbite girl is probably a really scary stripper these days.

Xenocide - 2011-09-05

The revelation that a talking songbook can have a daughter has annihilated everything I ever thought I believed in.

Quad9Damage - 2011-09-05

"The bible says to love other people! But I have a PROBLEM loving my sister when she makes me mad! (And homosexuals, feminists, atheists, pro-lifers, and people who are part of
other religions!)"

"There's a kid at school who hogs all the TOYS! (and government seats!)"

By the end of this, I fully expected to see the Everything is Terrible Logo.

Quad9Damage - 2011-09-05

... Wait, I just found out all the other Psalty videos are EIT. I just assumed this was the kind of thing they would cover.

spiteful crow - 2011-09-05

The book has kids. I hate this video for making me imagine what anthropomorphic book sex must be like.

I mean... PAPER CUTS.

Quad9Damage - 2011-09-05

Well, it's not 'book-on-book' sex per se. When in season, the anthropomorphic book reproduces by fucking a copy machine. Nothing to it really.

dead_cat - 2011-09-06

According to the website for this program, Psalty's got an entire terrifying family. Whether they *all* give off child molester vibes is as yet unknown.

dead_cat - 2011-09-06

I like how the only reason Josh's "house built on sand" fell over was because Psalty dumped pudding on it and then knocked it over.

Lesson learned, you fucking book.
