They left out the part where the Republicans said "neener-neener" and "no tagbacks" before running out of the room.

Senator_Unger - 2011-02-27

Look, the Republicans lost their sense of shame a long time ago. I'm pretty sure the only thing that motivates them anymore is greed and dickishness.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2011-02-27

Let's just hope the voters have long term memories.

bongoprophet - 2011-02-27

hahahahahahaha

Samisyosam - 2011-02-27

Wow, did you see that? All of them leapt onto that vote button like a frat boy with a boner jumping onto a passed out freshman.

Bort - 2011-02-27

The one small good thing about this is, this allows Democrats to fit an awful lot of Republican dickishness into a 20-second commercial.

And, since it's not being given enough attention in the media ... there was a budget SURPLUS in Wisconsin until a couple weeks ago, when they passed another tax break for the rich. Now Wisconsin can't make ends meet, and if there is a financial crisis there now, it was engineered by Republicans. In a perfect world, engineering a crisis would get a public official fired.

http://politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/feb/18/rachel-madd ow/rachel-maddow-says-wisconsin-track-have-budget-sur/

there wasn't surplus that's just a lie

kwash - 2011-02-27

To be fair, not a lie, but a misinterpretation/misunderstanding of the memo.

I doubt it was consciously done, but it's possible.

cognitivedissonance - 2011-02-27

It wasn't a surplus, but it wasn't a deficit deserving of this level of draconian nonsense. It was nothing that couldn't be solved by closing some tax loopholes.

Samisyosam - 2011-02-27

I think it's best to focus on the collective bargaining part of the issue.

Bort - 2011-02-27

Thanks for the correction! I knew I should have heeded the old adage: "Never trust the math of anyone with Cousin Balki's hair".

Zarathustra00 - 2011-02-27

The thing I noticed about that article was that while Wisconsin was facing ~0 million deficit this year, they pushed legislation that will create an additional 0 million deficit for their next budget cycle. It all makes sense now. The 50% of my econ 101 class that were below a C average were Republicans.

Smellvin - 2011-02-27

I like how after the vote they all voiced their resounding approval of old cowboy movies by chanting, "Shane! Shane! Shane!"

Lurchi - 2011-02-27

"mopping up the last pockets of organized resistance"

TeenerTot - 2011-02-27

I knew politicians could be assholes, but geez.

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-02-27

I can't believe they got away with these infantile parlor tricks and shenanigans.
