Yeah, the whole FMV craze couldn't have ended fast enough for everyone. Of all the fads in videogames, it was probably the one that wore out it's welcome quickest.

At least the FMV fad was sort of novel at first, and we got some entertainingly hammy performances out of it.

The late 90s "EVERYTHING must go 3D!" craze was worse. Every publisher was obsessed with making the move from sprites to 3D despite the technology not being there yet to look anything less than garbage.
