"Nonstop Climax Action" is a good tagline for a game about a girl who's hair is also her clothes, who loses clothes as you do more and more successful combos and who shoots people when she kicks them in the face because she has bootguns.
Just recently played this after not touching it since it came out, and I forgot how much better than Devil May Cry it was. It had migrated over to a friend's house like most of my games, but now I want it back...
Wait, it was actually good? I never played it past the opening cinematic I submitted to poe. In the opening it seemed to be nothing but button mashing.
It's actually more God of War than DMC. You pretty much just alternate between mashing the attack and dodge buttons.
It's better than DMC if you prefer God of War, but no way is it better at what DMC does. DMC is like an ultra violent Tony Hawk where you string together moves inbetween fun and clever cutscenes.
Bayonetta is mashing buttons inbetween dull 10 minute anime speeches.
I had a lot of fun playing it, but I thought it was a little on the short side. I think you'd enjoy playing through the game if you bought a used copy.
It's awesome. The weapons and abilities that you unlock can totally alter the gameplay. It has an excellent difficulty curve, because you keep the weapons and abilities thru the difficulty levels. Secret shit is plentiful fun to find. And you generally feel rewarded for the effort. I suppose you can button mash on the easy difficulties, but why would you when instead you can have fun and do stylish shit.
