shit tv shows aside, Windows 7 is the best OS ever.

Old_Zircon - 2010-09-23

Too bad I'm never going to upgrade to an OS with that kind of licensing scheme.

Rape Van Winkle - 2010-09-23

(laugh track)

Kabbage - 2012-10-18

For Rip Van

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-09-23

This is probably the best sitcom on television right now. You all owe it to yourselves to spend five seconds considering it before deciding you have better things to watch.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-09-23

This is probably the best sitcom on television right now. -LAUGH TRACK- You all owe it to yourselves to spend five seconds considering it -UPROARIOUS LAUGHTER- before deciding you have better things to watch. -DEAFENING SHRIEKS OF JOYOUS RAPTURE-

Mancakes - 2010-09-23

You're joking, right?

Old_Zircon - 2010-09-23

Last time there was a good sitcom on TV, the US had an economy.

Charles - 2010-09-23

I think the reason they hate is because of the laugh tracks. Somehow they are unable to ignore the laughing long enough to actually consider this show. I thought this show sucked too, before I saw it. Then I realized I have the capacity to think for myself, and actually gave it a chance.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-09-23

I also asserted my individuality, told the in-crowd to take a hike, and became free to be me long enough to watch the show and confirm for myself that it was bad.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-09-23

"People don't like something that I like, they MUST be dumb sheep!"

-Charles, mental juggernaut and connoisseur of network television sitcoms

Ghoul - 2010-09-23

If you find this show hilarious, and believe that Tim and Eric are unfunny retards. I hate you.

Xenocide - 2010-09-23

I own various consumer products.

(uproarious laughter)

Some are technological in nature.

(sustained laughter for two minutes)

I have opinions about them, as well as about various movies and tv shows I have watched.

(standing ovation)

For example, I feel that this computer is better than this other computer, and that this movie sequel did not live up to the original film.

(Xenocide receives a lifetime achievement Emmy for writing.)

Charles - 2010-09-23

"Someone who takes time to form opinions themselves instead of just taking others' opinions as their own? Bah! Blind elitism, that's all that is!"

-WHO WANTS DESSERT, master of internet forums and dependently-formed thought.

Anyway, I never asserted that it's the best sitcom out there, but it's definitely worth more than some people think. I don't believe having opinions on something (especially something so superficial) warrants crass criticism, but I can't stand people who cannot think for themselves.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-09-23

Shut up, Charles.

spikestoyiu - 2010-09-23

The following sitcoms are great:

-- Community
-- 30 Rock is still great, though the last season was probably its worst

And uh...

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-09-23

-5 stars for this awful show

+5 stars for Xenocide

IrishWhiskey - 2010-10-05

Parks and Rec was pretty awesome last season, better than 30 Rock.

jyrque - 2010-09-23

I am playing a video game.

*audience howls in laughter*

erratic - 2010-09-23

5 for evil. I was told that I would like this show because I'm nerdy and in to science. Tried it. I don't think I'll trust that person's advice ever again. Is it too much to ask that my nerd humor be at least either written or performed by actual nerds?

kingofthenothing - 2010-09-23

SURELY ALL NERDS MUST BE FRAIL ELF DUDES WHO SPEND EVERY WAKING MINUTE THINKING ABOUT COMPUTERS AND DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS AND THINGS OF A COMMONLY AGREED UPON NERDLY NATURE. HA HA HA HA HA HA.

Old_Zircon - 2010-09-23

This reminds me of that American Splendor comic where Pekar chews out Toby Radloff for liking Revenge of the Nerds even though it's kind of the nerd equivalent of tomming it up.

Goofy Gorilla - 2010-09-23

There was an episode where I remember that there was what I thought was a Hamilton equation incorrectly expressed on a chalkboard in the background, but there is a real physicist that advises the show's writers on scientific matters.

YakooMarkTwo - 2010-09-23

Five stars for 3 increasingly boisterous laugh tracks vs. 0 actual jokes. TV in a can. Love it.

Gimme The IT Crowd, even though that show is slightly ruined by laugh tracks as well.

Twitch - 2010-09-23

At least the IT crowd is believable, and I don't watch it at my moms when I go over there to visit.

Seriosly, this is one of my mom's favorite shows. She was all 'It's about nerds, you will love it!' I've sat through, oh, four or five episodes. It hurt my brain.

That being said, it sure beats 'Big Brother' and 'Survivor' which are her other favorite shows.

chumbucket - 2010-09-23

(delivered in monotone):I'm giving this three stars (canned laugh)
because I can (canned laugh)

erratic is right, even the nerds like myself who like funny don't think this is at all funny

Seris - 2010-09-23

WINDOWS 7 MORE LIKE WINDOWS -HEAVEN- (everybody in audience collapses with laughter and collectively pisses themselves)

sosage - 2010-09-23

FreeBSD? More like FreeBS-PEE!

(Uncomfortable silence)

Seris - 2010-09-23

USB PORT MORE LIKE the american immigration system is a joke

>:|

(topical humor)

TeenerTot - 2010-09-23

Still funnier than Two and a Half Men. God I hate that show.

fluffy - 2010-09-23

The world has been pretty hard to live in ever since the television syndicates mandated that we all spent at least 5 hours a week watching television under penalty of social exclusion.

TeenerTot - 2010-09-23

AHhh hahahaha! Oh, man! You must write gags for Two and a Half Men!

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-09-23

The same thing happened to me, only the person recommending it to me said it was good for "people like you," which immediately confirmed that I wouldn't like it.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-09-23

That was supposed to be a response to erratic.

Hooker - 2010-09-23

I like how this is also a blatant shill for Windows 7.

Someone should do another of those Big Bang Theory without the laughtrack edits to this. In fact, a whole episode. I would probably find the show fascinating if I could get a whole episode with no laugh track.

charmlessman - 2010-09-23

Down with laugh tracks!!

Laugh tracks are insulting, banal, distracting and they ruin the rhythm of the show.

"You should be laughing now."
"Fuck you, TV!"

memedumpster - 2010-09-23

This show is the furthest from actual nerds possible. If this was written by nerds, it's pure propaganda.

Riskbreaker - 2010-09-23

Exactly, once more, a proper show in this vein should be full of chris chans, TFL guys and lukemorses.

Xenocide - 2010-09-23

Youtube is the biggest sitcom of all.

Mancakes - 2010-09-23

That show would be amazing.

Urkel Forever - 2010-09-23

You need to make this show. NOW.

Riskbreaker - 2010-09-24

The obvious premise for this: Dwayne, Bill, lukemorse and Chris Chan end up sharing the same place to live due to a series of accidents and coincidences. Wacky situations await our characters. It could also work as a character drama.

Valkor - 2010-09-23

A lot of my friends seem to enjoy this show. However, they have never seen News Radio or Arrested Development. Louie and Sunny are also both unseen. So if I can just force them to watch those programs I think I can cure them of their delusions.

That being said this and that show about picking up mothers are both better than 2.5 men.

BHWW - 2010-09-23

This show is 100% pure awful - it's like a very generic, formulaic 80's vintage sitcom filled with 90's style sitcom "snark" and post-2000 style referential humor. The show's pop-culture references are bad enough, being the "simply mentioning a tv show or film or actor or comic is funny in and of itself" but they do pretty much the same with references to math or physics, "jokes" that are supposed to be smart simply because they refer to math or physics or what have you.

I mean, I tried watching this show but this is how it looked to me

NERD 1: Reference to something like Brownian motion!
(laugh track)
NERD 2: Summer Glau!
(laugh track, hoots, sprinkling of applause)
NERD 1: Battlestar Galatica!
(laugh track filled with deep guffaws)
BLONDE: I am a female with breasts and I have never heard of Summer Glau or Battlestar Galactica.
(laugh track loses it's shit entirely, thunderous applause)

FABIO - 2010-09-23

This show is nerd primer for the general public, nothing more or less. Any recommendation of it must be taken in the same vein of the well meaning but totally off Christmas gift that a relative got you because "you're into that stuff".

But this is nowhere near the worst sitcom. 2 1/2 Men beats it for sheer banality, and Everyone Loves Raymond is the most painful.

Cyberblah - 2010-09-23

Yeah, like time when I was a kid that my aunt got me a TRS-80 game for my Commodore 64! (thunderous laughter)

cognitivedissonance - 2010-09-23

5 stars for the appalling nerdface vaudeville.

StanleyPain - 2010-09-23

Yet another shitty network sitcom that is improved 100 fold when you remove the laughter.

anotherdeadhero - 2010-09-24

They have clips of the show with laugh tracks removed and it's retarded.

The McK - 2010-09-24

Is there a way of calling this shit a nerd minstrel show that doesn't trivialize centuries of actual horrific oppression?

Riskbreaker - 2011-11-25

Let me finish the whole "this show is better than 2 and a half men" thing with a simple cold fact:

Both shows were created by the same guy.
