The game had a lot of shitty game design decisions, power-ups that lasted only a few seconds, melee attacks being several dozen times better than everything else, pitting your tiny lumbering mech against gigantic lightning fast ones with cheap as hell continual damage inflicted on you whenever you're in contact with them.
But it did have the perk of letting you foil the final boss' escape plan by parking yourself next to the escape route while his mech blows up and cutting loose with flame throwers to fry his spacesuited ass before he could run.
