Makes me want to buy something from the 80s. Maybe a Swatch knockoff not available in stores.

RocketBlender - 2010-06-01

I hate to ask, but what exactly is Poe's law?

Comeuppance - 2010-06-01

It only vaguely applies here, but:

Landover Baptist Church was regarded as a non parody at first in its younger days. Readers thought that shit was real.

memedumpster - 2010-06-01

Did their animation include a volley of missiles traveling through a canyon?

Oktay - 2010-06-01

I've seen the full version of this, and 9/10ths of it is about how they re-edited LRH's writings. It's just David Miscavige going on and on about how many thousands of words they restored and re-arranged, each time he gives the word totals for a particular book, he gets a standing ovation. Tom Cruise's hair keeps bouncing when he applauds.

BHWW - 2010-06-01

I've seen a photo of Miscavige and Cruise giving each other a salute while on a stage during some sort of ceremony - asides from being just another little display of the weird militarism found within the CoS it also showed that Miscavige is shorter than Tom Cruise.
Which reminds me, via the militarism, of a story one of my uncles told me about visiting Clearwater, Florida some years back and seeing small groups of "scruffy" looking youths loitering around here and there, dressed in naval-style uniforms. Having served a stint in the actual Navy, he wondered what all of these sailors were doing hanging around town until a friend informed him that these were youthful adherents of the CoS based out of it's Fleet HQ in the city's downtown area - which at that time the CoS were buying up quite a bit of.

I'm surprised they haven't sued the Tarvuism people yet.

Samisyosam - 2010-06-01

They did, then they sued to keep memory of it out of the public record.

Innocent Bystander - 2010-06-01

Scynne - 2010-06-01

I am seriously angered by the fact that six minutes of a bunch of people saying NOTHING AT ALL receives a standing ovation.

Rudy - 2010-06-01

I wanna be on a mountaintop with LRH cutting through butter with a lightsaber!
