Out of his milieu and his oeuvre... everyone in the scene, in front and behind of the camera.

And it's magical.

I love this movie so much.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-05-03

This movie was so ahead of its time, it fits in perfectly with the recent trend of awkwardness as humor, like The Office or Judd Apatow movies.

citrusmirakel - 2010-05-04

You're comparing this to "Knocked Up"? Go fuck yourself.

chairsforcheap - 2010-05-03

5 for a goddamn wonderful modern masterpiece omfg awesomeness put it right in my butt

tmavomodry - 2010-05-03

I hate that this movie doesn't get as much attention as it should

Camonk - 2010-05-03

If you'd told me anything about this scene before I watched it, I would have told you to shut up because that's a stupid formula for a scene. Probably would've socked you one, too.

chumbucket - 2010-05-03

unfortunately DeNiro's work on The Fan never met up to this high level of awkward awesomeness...nothing else about that movie did either

Candlejackv616 - 2010-05-03

The fan was just so depressing, it felt like a fucking made for cable movie.

Now post the bit where he's interviewing imaginary celebrities in his basement and getting annoyed at his Mom.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2010-05-03

DeNiro and Lewis had never met before filming and DeNiro had been spewing out anti-Semitic slurs for weeks before this scene, just to get Lewis genuinely mad at him. He is honestly livid.
