Xenocide - 2010-03-08
People once believed that a crow carries souls to the land of the dead.
People also once believed that lightning was caused by a giant man who lived in the clouds and threw flashing light down at people for no reason.
Anyway, I guess being brought back to life by a disease-ridden bird grants you all the vast powers of a mime or something.

Isn't that future Iron Chef USA host Mark Dacascos? Of course, I already know the answer to that one. I mostly remember him as starring in various fair-to-middlin' direct to video action films.

I remember this show sucking balls. Yet my sisters insisted on watching it along with every other P.O.S. show.
What I'm saying is "Fuck Women!"

They also liked Xena, Babylon 5, Buffy and a whole other bunch of shitty shows.

Camonk - 2010-03-08 I really liked Babylon 5. I haven't watched it since it went off the air. I have this deep suspicion that I'll hate teenage-me for liking it.

It looks like their budget didn't include the clown white make up. He seems to be running out come the end of the intro.

This intro makes the show look better than it actually is. Everything Crow related is a bit embarrassing, but this is special. This show would almost qualify as a YouTube fan video. It's beneath SyFy.

StanleyPain - 2010-03-08 The original Crow comic series was pretty mindblowing when it originally came out. It was indie, which back then was still kind of a big deal, and it was just such a visceral, unapologetic, dark piece of work that it really impressed a lot of people, despite the faux-shitty-goth trappings that arose from it. The successive books, most of which weren't written or drawn by James O Barr, were pretty terrible and just run of the mill revenge stories, but the original is deservedly a classic for many people before companies like Slave Labor ruined the "dark" graphic novel area. The original movie was a fantastic adaptation in that it was sort of it's own thing rather than trying some weird, over-the-top way of translating the comic. That's pretty much my feelings on the Crow. Fuck all the stupid goth worship bullshit that emerged from it, though.
Oh, and also: yes, I am aware of O'Barr's reputation as something of a huge dick. Oh well....

Did they leave out the white greasepaint so that TV viewers of the time wouldn't mistake the Crow for Sting?
