What I would not give to see the look on their faces when they left that theater after seeing the incoherent, stupid, and worst of all boring mess that their beloved franchise had become.

Riskbreaker - 2010-02-25

They had to keep a "OMG THAT WAS AWESOME!" face, thinking the others would reject the whole notion of the sequel being bad.

The positive thing about the sequels: they destroyed most of the fanbase. Imagine if after the first Star Wars Lucas had went to make the prequels.

It's kind of incredible. After the first one came out, the trades were predicting that Matrix was destined to be THE generation-defining juggernaut film franchise of the modern age. Then came the sequels.

Now you can get all the Matrix movies on one DVD for five bucks.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-02-26

I think the second one wasn't nearly as bad as the third, which is just utter absolute nethershit. Whereas 2 is just a stinking turd.

Xenocide - 2010-02-26

The third at least has a big finale where Neo and Hugo Weaving got at it Dragon Ball Z style. Everything else is shit, but that bit was neat.

Whereas the second's idea of a climax is to have Keanu Reeves talk to an old man sitting in a chair for five minutes, and nothing makes any fucking sense.

I think this vid sums (up at least for me) what it was like being in a theater with a lot of the hardcore matrix fans at the time Reloaded came out. What really cheesed me off was the entirety of Neos conversation with the Oracle, as it went for fucking ever! on top of that all the techno babble bullshit and shoehorning of lame ass ideas, such as once they started talking about vampires and ghost and whatnot, I straight up tuned out.

Plus its like the sequels decided every line of dialogue has to be more pretentious and stuck up its own ass than the last. The original Matrix looks like a case study in subtly in comparison. Though I must admit I was extremely impressed with how the sequels actions sequences while longer and on a grander scale, where utterly boring and bland, while the originals sequences still seem infinitely more entertaining.

BIlly Mays Here - 2010-02-26

Seriously. I mean, when they were making it they bragged about how the car chase was the largest ever put to film, how they build miles of highway specifically for it, and even leaving the theater I didn't remember any of it aside from the two semis blowing up at the end.

Udderdude - 2010-02-26

hahahahaha

boner - 2010-02-26

I watched the second movie twice to make sure I didn't like it. 3rd one, I still rented it, but can't remember what happened.

oogaBooga - 2010-02-26

The first in a long line of movies that should have stayed sans-sequel.

Well, not really - but the most notable of the modern examples.

Goethe and ernie - 2010-02-26

The Matrix sequels were clearly the result of a massive lack of judgement. If two transvestite brothers called Wackoff tell you how the sequel's going to be even better because it's got dreadlocked albino twins in it, Christ, treat it like an email from a Nigerian prince and tell them to bollocks.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-26

I think the "fun" the anchor spoke of was that they didn't tell the other Matrix fans that the last guy was going to be there when they started shooting.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-02-26

Just imagine if you were the Sentinel's dad. Watching this at home, with your friends who were there to just watch the game or possibly right before poker.

MaulLove - 2010-02-26
