THA SUGAH RAIN - 2010-02-24
There was a dude who would sit in his car for hours on end at the end of my block. When someone finally called the cops, they saw his laptop running and a notebook full of passwords.

Hey Leo, I think she stopped listening about 3 hours into your monologue.

So I've listened to twenty seconds of this and I'm guessing she was hitching on her neighbor's broadband. Soon I will find out if my radical theory is true.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-24 Hmm, I wasn't expecting to be borne out within the next twenty.
Leo mostly knows his stuff but... your banking is definitely not safe when you're on someone's access point. You can still get in the middle of an SSL connection, assuming you have control over the traffic. And if the session cookie is sent unencrypted, someone can just use that to resume your session. And like TSR said, people definitely do the stuff, esp. in coffee shops and airports. Usually just for sport but, not always.

I know a chronic wi-fi hopper who remains baffled when the connection suddenly craps out. I love it.
