Next stop for Republican Education: Sesame Street.

"Oscar? That's a hispanic name. If you don't show me your Green Card, I'm calling INS."

RockBolt - 2010-02-12

Of course, how could unusually extreme weather be indicative of climate change?

manfred - 2010-02-12

Nye has a BSc in mechanical engineering. He's about as qualified to talk about climate change as Hannity.

dueserpenti - 2010-02-12

First of all, A BS is more education than Sean Hannity ever got, because Sean Hannity is a college dropout, and if Hannity had ever gotten a degree, it would've been in broadcasting, which is one of many ways to get through school while learning fuck-all about the world. Secondly, the point of having Bill Nye on to explain climate change is that Bill Nye explains science to children, which is apparently what we have to do to get the message across to the willfully ignorant trogs of the right wing, if indeed anything will work, which is doubtful.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-12

I'm going to trust the word of a scientist like Bill Nye over the word of whatever job title an asshole like Hannity uses.

Syd Midnight - 2010-02-12

This isn't desperation, it's shaming. Hannity sees it as a political thing and has completely ignored most all the reputable scientists. Apparently he requires a children's teacher to explain the scientific method to him.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-12

Normally I'd agree...this about sums up what I see a lot of:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091202132803AATD I3U

But in this case the guy is clearly more qualified to speak on the subject than, say, Anthony Watts, who is a meteorologist (not a researcher but a weatherman, but even so).

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-12

Bill even points out that it's willful ignorance when she asks how to explain the difference between weather and climate and he says "we all know it."

spork865 - 2010-02-12

Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill!

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-02-12

Science rules.

happy_ending - 2010-02-12

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-12

It's been a steady 70ºF in the house all week. EXPLAIN THAT

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2010-02-12

This is great, but why haven't we heard from Beakman, dammit?

pastorofmuppets - 2010-02-12

In jail for pimping

memedumpster - 2010-02-12

Other things Nye is more qualified to discuss than Hannity:
Sex.
Haircuts.
Fashion.
Personality.
Entertainment value.
Sex.

You left out bow ties.
