"traumatize"

memedumpster - 2010-02-06

Trams are scarier than Screen Gems.

Binro the Heretic - 2010-02-06

Kind of well-done, but I never got the alleged "scariness" of that logo. I saw it practically every day as a kid.

I thought the music was kind of happy and upbeat, myself.

B. Weed - 2010-02-06

Same here. I also wasn't that bothered by the V of Doom, but I think I was entering my teens by the time Viacom was showing up everywhere.

dead_cat - 2010-02-06

Oh hell, I was scared shitless by pretty much every logo screen -- and if the chords that went with it were loud, it was especially terrifying.

klingerbgoode - 2010-02-07

How about that HBO logo from the late 80s that preceeded their feature presentations?

revdrew - 2010-02-06

The V of Doom is worse, and that one after the Muppet Show was the worst of them all.

5 for working Halloween 3 in there.

Binro the Heretic - 2010-02-07

The ITC logo! I loved that logo!

It meant one of two things to me as a kid: The Muppet Show or Space 1999!

I was scared shitless of the United Artists logo... And after that, the Pink Panther intro, with the growing pink glow.

This

MrBuddy - 2010-02-07

Most of the horror movie opening credits aren't as scary as that United Artist logo. The Mark VII logo with the hand and the hammer at the end of Dragnet always made me uneasy although I wasn't afraid of it.

It does look like some sort of sigil with an eye in the middle come to think of it.

paparatti - 2010-02-06

I have no idea what they're talking about, but this would make a great radio broadcast when the apocalypse comes.

Paracelsus - 2010-02-06

Morons.

oogaBooga - 2010-02-06

And some dogs are scared shitless of balloons. Dogs have a good excuse though - they're fucking stupid.

happy_ending - 2010-02-06

It ain't no WGBH logo, that's for sure.

I used to be scared of the screen cards they would put up whenever there were technical difficulties on WFLD 32.

Testicles of Doom - 2010-02-07

The WGBH one was kind of unsettling to me, but I also loved it.

Now the Doctor Who theme scared the fuck out of me when I was a kid.

cognitivedissonance - 2010-02-07

Nice shout out to Halloween 3.

MrBuddy - 2010-02-07

I'm a very, very bad person for laughing so hard at the little girl's nightmare.
