...awkwaaaaaaard...
Jay Leno, incapable of defending himself I guess.

Wow. So worth it for that last bit.
I never knew I would be in Jimmy Kimmel's corner on anything.

stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself!

Hey Jay, self depreciation is Coco's thing, are you trying to steal that, too?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2010-01-15
Next up, Jay hoists himself up a tree and talk show hosts everywhere get a stick.

Hugo Gorilla - 2010-01-15
As this unfolds, it looks more like Helen Kushnick was a scapegoat and less that Leno was a naive pawn of NBC politics.
|
theSnake - 2010-01-15
yeah he was so destroyed by that segment that that probably got his show good ratings

I'm glad someone had the balls to go on Leno's show and just piss in his face.
|
Cheese - 2010-01-15 I'm so glad Lenos writers wrote funny gags for Jimmy, cuz lord knows his own writers are incapable of it. If it wasn't a set up, do you think they'd air it? it's not like the show is live, for fucks sake.
|
fatatty - 2010-01-15 I think they'd air it cause it's good television. The fact that Jay is cutting off the last line about having cars not children makes me think he didn't know that line was coming. I think this is a rare example of Jimmy Kimmel being authentically funny.
|
MaulLove - 2010-01-15 I agree. I think the lack of shitty canned responses on Leno behalf shows that at least some of this was unexpected.

Xenocide - 2010-01-15
What do they have to lose by showing this? NBC doesn't give a crap about Jay's ego, they care that this controversy is actually getting people to watch his shit for the first time. Anything that keeps the controversy in the news is good for them, and this defiantly does. This would air regardless of it was a setup.
|
Maggot Brain - 2010-01-15 What most of this contrived controversy boils down to is who gets to call them self the rightful heir to the throne of Johnny Carson. The truth is that both Conan and Leno are more likely to fallow in the foots steps of Steve Allen and Jack Paar; i.e. public television. Keep in mind that's better case scenario for Conan and Leno. At worse one of the two gets a Saturday late night talk show on Fox.

I think this was staged, or at least partially so, but intended to be much more lighthearted than it was.

themilkshark - 2010-01-15
Jimmy Kimmel is so much better than the other late nite guys (excluding Conan of course)

I actually laughed at the stripper/jay+conan -analogy.
It was nice to laugh for the first time in ten years.

"Destroyed"? The person who uploaded this obviously doesn't know what that means, or what humor is.
That being said, this was pretty funny.
