In Japan this is fun!

Why pay for pre-made games, when with hours of hard work and effort, you can make something buggy and terrible?

I know for a fucking fact that if they'd released this in the U.S. I would be a programmer today.
Whether I should be regretful or thankful for that is impossible to know.

My family had a C64. Later we upgraded to a C128, which was much more useful for learning basic game/graphics programming. I definitely credit that with me being a software engineer these days.

We had a series of x86 machines used primarily to play shovelware and I credit that with my current task of "coding" PHP and hiding my tear-streaked face when people walk by.

My family had an Apple II at a time when the only games AT ALL for them were text and educational games, which my parents refused to buy but they bought a book full of Basic programs that you could write games with. All I learned from it is sometimes you have to suffer for your fun and half the time it's not even worth it.

Dang, I could have made Super Uncontrollable Glitchy Sprite Brothers, just like I always wanted.
