After googling, you can find a lot of people who empathize with the guy on some level (while still disapproving of what he did) - they feel that nice guys always finish last, that society hasn't moved past the point where sensitive guys are treated like sissies and never get any play, etc.
All I can say is wow.

Infamous - 2009-08-07 The guy had a well-paying job, a home he could afford, and from what I could tell from reading his blog postings, was making an effort to change his situation. It's too easy for us to sit here and think we might not have become the man he became under the same circumstances. When people get desperate enough and feel helpless, they do things that normal, thinking, rational human beings just would not do.
That being said, I don't think anyone would agree that what he did was a good thing. Don't confuse empathy with sympathy.

Riskbreaker - 2009-08-07 Good points Infamous, but again, i have to wonder what exactly would this man do or say to scare women. As you say, he had good income, a nice place and he was doing exercise. There was something else wrong going on here that the guy never ever noticed about himself.

According to his diary, he had sex 50-75 times in his life and even had a kid at some point. That's not terrific, but it's hardly a "Mom's basement" level of sexual experience.
