SixDigitDebt - 2009-08-02

Abortions: One A Day plus Iron!

Merzbau - 2009-08-03

Because insurance companies never deny anyone treatment! Five stars for pure fucking evil.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

Insurance companies can't deny you treatment. That's illegal. The Insurance company might not cover a certain treatment, but you are free to pay for it outside of your insurance program.
The Obama plan will make it so Government is the only option. If the gov says you can't get a treatment you'll have to leave the country, because getting it here will be illegal.

Merzbau - 2009-08-03

Insurance companies can, and do, refuse to pay for treatment, leaving you holding the bag. No one anywhere has proposed making private practice illegal, you dishonest piece of shit.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

So you're saying that even if I want to pay for the treatment myself, the insurance company will stop me from getting that treatment. Will they send goons after me to stop me from getting to the hospital?

mashedtater - 2009-08-03

"Insurance companies can't deny you treatment. That's illegal. The Insurance company might not cover a certain treatment, but you are free to pay for it outside of your insurance program."

cena mark, i wish i lived in the magical world that you live in. i really do. it must be made of rainbows and candy and everyone has a dog, because real people issues that real people face because of these corporate loopholes and monopolies do not seem to exist in your world.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

I've had dental insurance and I've needed treatments not covered by it. You know what I did? I sucked it up and payed 100%. You know what they do in U.K.? They down a few shots of scotch and then they break out the pliers.

Mashedhater: Your world must be shit. Where every CEO is secretly Satan in disguise and every Corporation is an affiliate of the NAZI party. Oh God we need government to save us from these evil rich people!!!!

mashedtater - 2009-08-03

mashedhater?

thats the best you can come up with? soo lame.

my world is a REAL place. it has good things and bad things, and lots of areas that are grey and no one answer will solve them.

also, i on the whole trust the government. not blindly, but when it comes to them wanting to provid everyone which includes people who cannot access health care well..health care, i think that is a great idea.

dont go projecting all your anti government fears of big brother on me.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

I don't have a problem with government. Just BIG government. The government hardly gets anything right and they always severely underestimate the budgets of things. They'll say it'll cost 100 billion but it'll end up being a trillion.

Answer this. We all know Obama is the wisest and most intelligent man to enter the White House. Why is such a wise and intelligent man trying to rush a bill that will so dramatically change health care in this country before anybody has a chance to read it?

mashedtater - 2009-08-03

please link articles about said bill before progressing to the next step.

glendower - 2009-08-03

Amazing how the right-wing fringe just makes stuff up. Obama has said over and over that people would still have a private option available if they don't want the government version. Actually, the private option is critical, since it serves as an escape valve that will force the government to keep its costs and services competitive. Oh, by the way, private health care is rationed too. Just read your policy.

Syd Midnight - 2009-08-03

The Obama plan won't make it so the government is the only option Cena you dumbfuck. You can keep your private insurance. There, I solved it for you.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

I know damn well what Obama said. Well I just don't trust him.

zerobackup - 2009-08-05

"Cena_mark - I've had dental insurance and I've needed treatments not covered by it. You know what I did? I sucked it up and payed 100%"

And what brilliant plan would you have when we're not talking a bill of sub-1,000$ dental work, you can't just "suck it up and pay" for major surgery or hospital stays. I was in the hospital for 4 days and the bill was over ,000, had I not met with a financial councilor right away I would have been stuck with a crippling medical bill (I was 25 and working retail). The hospital was kind and decent enough to "write off" my hospital stay, But that still left me with about 5 grand to pay for the ambulance, the surgeon, and then anesthesiologist, which bill separately from the hospital. Not having insurance is awful, every American citizen deserves health care, whether they can afford it or not, period.

Oh wait I'm talking to either the most thick-headed person on POE, or the biggest most dedicated troll on POE. Just ignore my life experience and spout some more reactionary, right-wing bullshit from the fantasy world you live in.

Charles - 2009-10-05

The public option is in no way required, and in fact it is only available for the 5 percent of people who wouldn't be able to get private insurance under the new plan, i.e. through the insurance marketplace. Cena, you're a dumb motherfucker.

Stopheles - 2009-08-03

Yeah, well, they also won't pay for my neighborhood's school to be reroofed, but they'll pay to invade other nations unrelated to the attacks on my city. Suck it up.

I bet that this lobbying group doesn't acknowledge that Medicare is an existing form of government-run universal health care.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

Why aren't the Libs satisfied with just having Medicare? Now they want to get into everybody's shit.
I'll answer that question. Universal health care is going to be the Democrats biggest vote buying program ever.

Merzbau - 2009-08-03

Yes, imagine that, shamefully currying the public's favor by "providing" for the "common welfare!" Why can't they do it the honorable way, with ill-advised tax cuts?

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-08-03

Hold on, since when were the fucking baby boomers our greatest generation?

phalsebob - 2009-08-03

Since Boomers started making commercials.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

Though I too am against the government health care I find it pretty lame that the ad is pandering so hard towards the Pro life crowd.

zatojones - 2009-08-03

you're a member of a political party that has been almost entirely subsumed by pro lifers and other parts of the extreme right. It's no longer pandering - it's the platform. One would figure you're used to it by now

Toenails - 2009-08-03

Actually zato, I could have sworn Cena was part of the Neo-libertarian movement. Which, unless I'm wrong (and I usually am), is a fiscal conservative ideal mixed with a socially-liberal view on abortion, separation of church and state, and homosexuality.

Then again, Cena just says shit to get us flaming, so his political leanings are fluid at best and gaseous at worst (HAHAH get it? gaseous means he's full of farts!!!1 LOLOLOL).

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

Your right toenails. I a libertarian. I want both separation of church and state as well as separation of business and state.

I'm not flaming I just like a healthy debate.

Toenails - 2009-08-03

Cena, unless puns on the registered names of poeTV users suddenly became "healthy debate", you're going to actually have to agree that you do tend to post things only to get them riled up.

mashedtater - 2009-08-03

healthy debate? started by constantly saying things that show either how uninformed or intentionally trollish you are?

also, i cannot stress enough how utter lame it is when you try to pun or make some sad play on words on a username. i read your comments aloud to my 16 year old brother and even he rolled his eyes.

it is sad sir, and makes us all even sadder for you.

Toenails - 2009-08-04

Oh mashed, if you only knew how jealous I am that Cena has punned your name and yet overlooks me at every opportunity.

Seriously Cena, what's so hard with typing "Toefails" or "Turdnails" every now and again? It would be nice to feel not appreciated once in awhile, you know.

Xenocide - 2009-08-03

I like how the evil government surgery rejection notice has the presidential seal on it.

OBAMA PERSONALLY DECIDED YOU SHOULD DIE OF CANCER, OLD MAN. HE STAMPED YOUR DEATH CERTIFICATE WITH THE SAME HAND HE USED TO SIGN THE "ABORT ALL NON-KENYAN BABIES" AMENDMENT.

THIS IS HIS PLAN, TO KILL YOU SO HE CAN TAKE YOUR GUNS MORE EASILY.

HankFinch - 2009-08-03

He did that?!?
I starting a website!!!

Camonk - 2009-08-03

Greatest generation my ass. If they're so great, why are they so against abortions, huh? Explain that to me. It doesn't make sense.

mashedtater - 2009-08-03

because they have bad medical care and can't hear The Rap to complain about it.

Squidmojo - 2009-08-03

Don't these old people already socialized government health care by way of Medicare?

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

What we need is for the Government to stop regulating the insurance companies. I want to be able to buy insurance policies from any state, and I don't my policy to be forced to include coverage towards pregnancy, substance abuse, mental illness, or any other problems I know I'll never have.

Less government is the way. Believe it!

Squidmojo - 2009-08-03

You are so adorable I could kiss you.

mashedtater - 2009-08-03

you know the government also funds programs to help people who cut themselves. i dont cut myself, so i dont think its a valuable service.

but you might.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

Please don't. Queering isn't my thing.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

Mashedhater: I'm not talking about government programs. I'm talking about state governments dictating what must be included in insurance policies. The policy must contain things or they can't exist at all. In some states when a guy buys an insurance policy the policy is required to cover the man in case he gets pregnant.
If the government allows people to buy insurance across state borders, then they can get the best deal. And through competition (what a concept) insurance policies will drop.

mashedtater - 2009-08-03

why are you complaining about being covered if you get pregnant? you just said it yourself its a logical fallacy, so dont worry about it! is it so terrible to be covered for mental illness or substance abuse? how do you know for sure that you wont end up with one of those? well substance abuse is less likely, but i wouldnt rule out mental illness. what about mental illnesses that emerge later in life?

and its health care. its not about competition, it should be about the people and the care they are getting.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

Health care benefits from competition, everything benefits from competition. If an insurance company sucks people will leave it, it'll go out of business, the good companies will survive. Health care companies survive by giving the people what they need, thus people will get the health care they need if government will just butt out.
You sound like a government educated moron. I too was educated in government schools, but I broke my programming.

mashedtater - 2009-08-03

yes cena mark.

something about you is indeed broken.

glendower - 2009-08-03

Yeah Cena, your right. Look at when the government deregulated the electricity markets in the Northeast. Oh wait. Never mind. Prices shot through the roof and companies stopped building generators.

Cena_mark - 2009-08-03

Bendover: Utilities are an exception. Often utilities are best left regulated. But few other industries benefit from government regulation. Imagine if the government were fully in charge of the entertainment industry.

Merzbau - 2009-08-03

Good point- what did the FDA ever do for us? OSHA? Don't make me laugh!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2009-09-13

Cena Mark, it's nice that you acknowledge that utilities are an exception, but I believe that health insurance is also an exception because it's a service that, when you need it, no one is competing for your business. When you're sick, you can't go anywhere else. It's an instant de facto monolpoly. Now, if your insurer is the government, you're just as stuck, but there is no profit motive to create an incentive to fuck you.

I had a private insurer, and now I have medicare, and the private insurer was WAY more into making my health care decisions and telling me what Doctors i could see. The beurocracy was insane with the private insurance company (Aetna). They actually fucked up our information so that everyone in the company where I worked was told that we could only see doctors in Syracuse, about a hundred miles away. It took a dozen phone calls and a couple of months to straighten out.

phalsebob - 2009-08-03

Old people are useless anyway. You guys should just grind the sick ones up with all the aborted babies and use them as fertiliser like we do in Canada.

StanleyPain - 2009-08-03

Maybe the greatest generation should have fucking not turned this country into shit after WWII just so they could stay white and greedy, you fucks.

Udderdude - 2009-08-03

This is just the kind of insane lies and fear mongering America needs. 5 stars.

Toenails - 2009-08-03

A 5 star assist to make it 10 stars.

Riskbreaker - 2009-08-03

Let old crazy people die + kill future right wing wackos: a winning plan.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2009-08-03

DEATH TO THE ELDERLY!

Ouroboros - 2010-05-25

We're starting to stretch the definition of "greatest generation" pretty thin at this point. Either that or this is the fittest pair of ninety-year-olds I've ever seen.
