I may be mistaken, but 5 weeks isn't really long enough to develop a nervous system necessary to feel pain. I'm fairly certain that takes longer.

It's actually not until the 3rd trimester that the baby can be said to "feel" pain. There are some automatic nervous system responses earlier than that, but nothing is connected in the brain yet.
