So he's just suffocating a shark pretty much? Tonic immobility means the shark is so scared that it shuts down. Males also congregate at the bottom of the sea and sometimes just lay there after mating.
It's a myth that sharks suffocate if they don't constantly swim. And tonic immobility doesn't necessarily mean the sharks are scared; sharks also become relaxed when they're being groomed by cleaner fish.
On the other hand, it's clear that these sharks are suffering from a severe case of ear mites. One star for that.
