I'm pretty much glad I never saw this as a kid :/

socialist_hentai - 2009-06-08

yup! I remember little grays in X-files scared the shits out of me when i was a kid, this would of gotten me institutionalized.

baleen - 2009-06-08

Terrifying as a child. Hilarious as an adult.

Big Beef Burritos Supreme - 2009-06-08

Nearly right, except more like ridiculous as an adult.

I wonder if the book's any good? Like a non-shite prequel to Lunar Park?

Raoul Duke 138 - 2009-06-08

No, the book is really not that great.

charmlessman - 2009-06-08

Seriously, the book was AWFUL. I got about 50 pages into it and had to stop. It's just page after page of banality, punctuated by "and I must stress that this is all true, and that I am completely credible, because this really happened..." BOGUS AND BORING!

Lurchi - 2010-04-07

bad to see on drugs as well

cognitivedissonance - 2009-06-08

There was a movie about the book "Communion", and it starred Christopher Walken. End joke.

cognitivedissonance - 2009-06-08

Quick poll: How many of you actually watched this and how many of you just threw up stars in the vain hope of making it go away?

manfred - 2009-06-08

Strieber is a lying piece of shit con-artist. He is evil and his books suck ass. This movie blows. Seriously, Strieber is right up there with Peter Popoff and Falwell as the biggest douchebag charlatan of the the last century.

Still, Walken is cool. +3 stars.

KnowFuture - 2009-06-08

I read the book when I was about 14-15 years old and yeah, I'm not watching this clip tonight.

simon666 - 2009-06-08

Had the book when I was 12, never read it, watched this movie and had nightmares for years. I'm glad I grew up and realized the alien conspiracies were fake; I'd be miserable to this day otherwise.

HankFinch - 2009-06-08

I heard the director's cut of Mac 'n Me was a little bit darker, but I could see how this part didn't test well

Cleaner82 - 2009-06-08

I read the book, I think it permanently fucked me up.

StanleyPain - 2009-06-08

This movie is so worth it if not for the end when Walken has a little free jazz association jam with the aliens.

voodoo_pork - 2009-06-08

True. The movie has a really weird tone that I can't get my head around.

gnpaaron - 2009-06-08

Yeah. I saw this when I was eight. My parents used to take me to work on school holidays and set me up with a TV and some films of my choosing (horror films).

I still think about this scene, although the way i remember it the alien't head actually came THROUGH the door, like a ghost.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2009-06-08

That alien just stole ET's shtick. Or possibly stick. That glowed...

Oh my god, it's an interstellar glowstick barbarian. (I hope)

afp3683 - 2009-06-08

Techno Viking found the obelisk from 2001, came back to earth hyper-evolved to continue partying.

Unfortunately, he is now terrifying to behold.

kingarthur - 2009-06-08

Streiber was a horror novelist prior to his "abduction experiences". The Communion series is pretty fucking scary. I think he made it all up and then started throwing in new age hippie bullshit as justification later on. So, one of the most successful trolls ever or charlatan? You decide.

zatojones - 2009-06-08

i too was a bit weirded out by this

memedumpster - 2009-06-08

This movie scared the everliving dogshit out of me when I was a kid. Not long ago, I caught a podcast by Streiber where he was talking about how he didn't trust the aliens anymore due to human mutilations (search for that if you want more nightmares). Because of this movie, hearing him talk about the stuff creeps me the hell out to this day.

afp3683 - 2009-06-08

I read one of Streiber's books. I'd like to watch this movie under the context that he is a man going insane, haunted by delusions of the real world blurring with his sci-fi novels.

Because if he is actually being sincere when talking about this kind of stuff, that seems to be exactly what is happening.

KnowFuture - 2009-06-08

He didn't write sci-fi, unless you count "Nature's End" (takes place in the future and it's about a mass ecological breakdown). He wrote books about vampires and werewolves. I guess aliens isn't too big of a jump from those things.

cognitivedissonance - 2009-06-08

It is sort of an alien flavored "Shining".

Paracelsus - 2009-09-03

True story. Saw this movie in the theater, and when it was over the house lights didn't come up. This lady came down the aisle and announced that she had also been an abductee, that the situations in the movie had been real, and that she would be waiting to talk to people in the lobby should they feel the need.

Bort - 2009-10-02

"Oh fuck, this is Christopher Walken's house."

DriverStabby - 2013-02-25

For you.

DriverStabby - 2013-02-25

If I had seen this as a kid, I would have shit in my fucking pants.
