oh the show that started it all...

DMKA - 2009-06-02

Shameless. Corporate. Advertising.

I have fond memories of Sailor Moon and the 90s. I love this video.

Nikon - 2009-06-03

Same here.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-06-02

This pitch ad fails to capture the spirit of the original Japanese series' pitch ad.

Aah, memories.

thebaronsdoctor - 2009-06-02

X-treme, in the nineties it was spelled Xtreme.

Also: I somehow think boys are going to be more into the transformation sequence than the girls are...

Also also: This brings back some wicked nostalgia. First annie may I ever saw...

Hailey2006 - 2009-06-02

This video is such a gulity pleasure!

ragebots - 2009-06-03

The hard sell really cracks me up.

namtar - 2009-06-03

Yeah, appeal to boy, uh huh.

The only time this ever got watched by me was because in a house with no cable, its only competition was infomercials and the farm report, and sometimes the farm report won.

ponpoko - 2009-06-03

Girls will love Sailor Moon's transformation from everyday schoolgirl to glamorous superhero! Femmy, confused boys will love the inexplicable feelings of guilt and shame from the non-stop tiara and lipstick action!

also her friend carrie becomes sailor fetus

Cube - 2009-06-03

So umm... Where's their ship?

Maggot Brain - 2009-06-03

It's too bad that they didn't look ahead to the sessions with lesbians and transvestites.

Nikon - 2009-06-03

And transsexuals.

phalsebob - 2009-06-03

I don't see how this stuff is watchable. It's empty of content and stylistically a pin in your eye.

Nikon - 2009-06-03

Some people like it because they like watching the main character grow up over time. Others like it because it's very upbeat and they need a pick-me-up. Still other people watch it because they happen to be in the age range the show is aiming for.

phalsebob - 2009-06-03

If I understand you, you're saying some people are reptoids, yes?

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-03-20

Some people aren't cowards.

Monchiles Monchiles - 2009-06-03

I remember having this on in the background at 3:30 every afternoon on the WB while I patiently waited for Beast Wars. Then later this show came on right before Dragonballz on Toonami and I found myself increasingly catching the tail end of a couple hundred dozen episodes. Then for a whole summer Sci-fi or WHAM! or some goofy cable station I can't remember started to play reruns of it between hour-long blocks of Duckman and it was easier to play my gameboy with Sailormoon on than go channel surfing again. What I'm saying is that I've never actually sat down and watched an entire episode, but I found myself saying "Wait a minute, those aren't the girl's names" when I watched this ad. Unconsciously, I probably have a treasure trove of useless trivia about Sailormoon tucked away waiting for just the right moment to be triggered and make me embarass myself.

VoilaIntruder - 2009-06-03

That's certainly alot of words.

King of Balls - 2009-06-03

Exactly what I was trying to explain to my girlfriend.

Hooper_X - 2009-06-03

DIC.

Truth in advertising.
