One of my favorite pranks was getting every computer in the school to display this on startup without any obvious way of shutting it off.

-1 for it being a recording, +1 for going on far longer than necessary. Which is kinda the point.

Old_Zircon - 2009-04-08

I kind of like the gritty realism of it big a recording.

Mike Tyson?! - 2009-04-08

In my TV production class I used to sneak on to my teacher's computer, run a long-ass RCA video cable to a VCR "editing station" and dub this on every single blank tape we had.

I also did lots of videos that after grading were not allowed to be shown to other students. Lots of "You get a B now destroy this tape."

eatenmyeyes - 2009-04-09

That is a great story, Mike.

My second grade teacher showed this to us one day and it proved the biggest mistake of her teaching career. We insisted on watching it in the morning of every Friday before recess, right after she read us the weather report and added the time of sunrise and sunset to the big paper at the back of the room. Nobody listened, we just waited for that sweet sweet musical sound and those wonderful animated gifs.

If she skipped a day tantrums were thrown, and the retarded kid and Aspergers kid would both start freaking out and throwing shit.

They also freaked out whenever Happy Birthday was sung.

I haven't thought about any of this in twelve years, thanks.

STOP MAKING ME FEEL OLD MOTHERFUCKER.

spork865 - 2009-04-08

Man, in second grade we were lucky to play Oregon Trail. You had the Internet. It seems like cheating.

KillerGazebo - 2009-04-08

The computer in the class was for the personal use of the teacher only. The computers we learned to use in the computer lab were still only good for running the MECC version of Oregon Trail. Either the original or the version from 1985.

Then again, they were Apple computers, so the gaming market hasn't moved much past that anyway.

Good to see it even kept the misspelling in there, too.

glasseye - 2009-04-08

Classic. This consumed hours of my life during my freshman year of college.

bopeton - 2009-04-08

Better than a ytmnd at least.

dora's cough - 2009-04-09

Cal Berkeley still play this song at their football games. It is baffling.

Mister Yuck - 2009-04-09

I remember putting this on as many computers as possible before the teacher got into the computer lab one day. I was such a badass in fourth grade.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2009-04-09

Oh, you kids and your internets.

pastorofmuppets - 2009-04-09

Wow I hadn't realized how much older I am than a lot of you guys. What have I done with my life?
