The anti-advertising era was an ouroborous of irony

Urburos - 2008-11-06

Sadly I didn't make the cut. Nobody voted for an Urburos of sarcasm.

I remember a keebler cookie commercials that went along the lines of "Party in a box" sort of thing. I remember remembering that and the first time i saw this on tv.

They had another one of these with people talking about all the stuff the won from Jooky and it was all stupid crap like 3000 cans for one Jooky sock. Back when Sprite used to give away prizes under the cap, far more often and easily than any other soda ever did. I can't remember how many free Sprites I won in 4th grade.

Most soda giveaways were way more generous then they are these days. I went one whole summer drinking a free coke every few days. I think i may have bought 6 bottles of soda the whole summer.

Nowadays, you have to go onto their website, register your soul, and enter promo codes in order to have no chance at winning.

I haven't watched the video yet or thought about this ad for about fifteen years, but as soon as I saw the word Jooky, that song erupted in my head, word and note perfect.

What do you guys think Jooky tastes like? I bet it's pretty citrusy!

TinManic - 2008-11-06

WOW that commercial is dated! I remember watching it during 1998 episodes of Conan O'Brien!

kthorjensen - 2008-11-06

I sent dozens of letters to Coca-Cola asking where I could find Jooky in my neighborhood. They got pretty frustrated by the end.
