Well I have to say that Stossel patronizing attitude was directed the opposite way I thought it would be. Good for him.

In regard to the sexy nurse thing, people sexify all kinds of professions, like librarians. I bet librarians love the fact that someone might think they are sexy.

Also, I loved his question about Dr. Pepper.

minimalist - 2008-10-13

I loved that too. It was like he wanted to out-Colbert Colbert. Her reaction was also priceless.

-1 because Stossel is still an outrageously stupid douche.

TeflonDoc - 2008-10-13

"constant association of sex and nursing"

chumbucket - 2008-10-14

that needs to continue as far as I'm concerned

Charles - 2009-02-22

Seconded. I would totally have anonymous sex with that brainless slut of a real nurse from their local hospital.

RomancingTrain - 2008-10-13

Oh man, he was doing so well up until that last sentence.

citrusmirakel - 2008-10-13

John Stossell: Libertarian Crusader FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

John Stossell will stand up for your rights when small business are oppressed by governement institutions who.... write a letter and then do nothing afterwards. If ONLY there were businesses where employees were allowed to be sexualized without government interference.

Ass.

Cena_mark - 2008-10-13

I too am a Libertarian Crusader FOR GREAT JUSTICE!
Damn government is standing in the way of this man and his business, plus that ugly woman needs to get a sense of humor.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-10-13

And like Stossel, you're not an actual libertarian, just a conservative trying to feign an independent streak.

dementomstie - 2008-10-13

"halloween people dress like slutty nurses all the time"

second on the Dr. Pepper question. or rather on her response.

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-13

where the hell is this place so I can go there tomorrow?

glasseye - 2008-10-13

Somewhere in tex-ass.

Camonk - 2008-10-13

You guys are morons. It's in Tempe, Arizona. Tempe is a horrible place. Don't let anybody tell you different. Texas is an asshole place, but this isn't there.

robotkarateman - 2008-10-13

stfu camUNK! ever1 noes Arizona is in Tex-ass!

Hailey2006 - 2012-03-15

I think it relocated to Vegas, a while back!

boba. - 2008-10-13

i caught an awesome 20/20 recently about 'orthorexics' -- people who have an eating disorder and somehow occasionally die from trying to eat too healthy. that and this clip seem to clearly place 20/20's view on food, like making fat viewers comfortable with themselves.

3 stars only because this could be WAY trashier and was only mildly entertaining.

aeso - 2008-10-13

I want to curl up inside Stossel's luxurious mustache.

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-13

http://www.heartattackgrill.com/government.html

Diogenes - 2008-10-13

1). I am honestly surprised OSHA doesn't have some issues with this.
2). Is Stossle honestly saying that it is a bad thing to have laws requiring that people who are called and advertised as nurses in a place of business actually be nurses? Seriously, just don't call them nurses; people will get the joke without you abusing a legally defined term.

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-13

You, are whats wrong with America

robotkarateman - 2008-10-13

I agree. We should also outlaw any radio DJ calling themselves "Dr. Funk" because they're not real doctors.

Diogenes - 2008-10-13

Dude, you can dress them like sexy nurses, just don't call or advertise them as nurses. The government has an interest in making sure certain professional titles goes with certain professional training.

minimalist - 2008-10-13

The OSHA thing is a fair point. My second thought (after "Hello, hot mamas") was "Good lord, that is a lot of exposed flesh to be around those huge open fryers full of boiling hot oil."

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-13

Oh I get it, I see what you did there.

no one could be that stupid, you must be trolling.

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-13

above was for Diogenes

Diogenes - 2008-10-13

Not trolling at all. I am the anti-Stossel in that I take bureaucratic power and technical legal definitions very, very, very seriously. As for the Doctor Funk issue: Doctor has a wide variety of meanings in our Society: MD. JD. PhD. DDS. DD. DoMJG. (Doctor of motherfucking journalism goddamnit). "Nurse", on the other hand, is nowhere near as poorly defined. I choose to withhold judgment on the Doctor Funk issue until it is determined whether Doctor Funk holds some kind of doctorate, and/or whether Doctor Funk's usage conforms to conventional naming standard for the funkologist profession.

ps: Fuck Dr. Laura. If I had my way there would be a disclaimer on that show every time she came back from break.

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-13

"I take bureaucratic power and technical legal definitions very, very, very seriously. "

why? Are you worried someone will confused a slut dressed as a nurse for a real nurse? Slutty nurses give real nurses a bad name? Nurse A spent gobs of money studying to become a nurse, now nurse B works at the heartattack grill and that makes nurse A sad? Thinking of the children? WONT SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

fight the power homey.

Moustache McGillicuddy - 2008-10-13

I shaved my moustache recently, does that not make moustache mcgillicuddy?

Diogenes - 2008-10-14

Fight the power? Why on earth would I do that? I want to become the power. I trained to become the power. Brother, let me tell you, when I am the power there will be Sexy Nurse licensing, a National Sexy Nurse Registry, and possibly real-time sexy nurse tracking. In Diogenes America you'll be able to call up a satellite photo overlaid with the locations of all the sexy nurses in a fifty mile radius.

And nobody will be able to stop me because the Sexy Nurse Clarification act of 2015 used the phrase "is committed to agency discretion" in creating the Federal Bureau of Sexy Nurse Management.

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-14

you're really bad at defending what you believe in.

either that or you realized how silly your argument was.

Diogenes - 2008-10-14

Uh oh, looks like someone was just added to two or three watchlists.

StanleyPain - 2008-10-14

Stossel is the guy who did a segment on 20/20 about how food standards are NAZI KKKOMUNIST LIBERAL STALINISM and how the free market would naturally maintain proper food standards because businesses would realize that if people ate their bad meat and died, they would lose money, so without health standard laws, food would be better.

Blaise - 2008-10-13

Be a man.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-10-13

John Stossel's mustache don't cotton to that.

RedHood - 2008-10-13

Well they had better start going after all the exotic dancers; who publicly and privately, wear nurse and police officer costumes in their routines as well...I mean it would only be fair.

dueserpenti - 2008-10-13

Sexy nurses are like sexy librarians; they're sexual unicorns, and we all know they don't really exist.

Doctor Arcane - 2008-10-14

Nah, they start out sexy for about 2-5 years, and then the job wears them down to bitter malevolent creatures.

Enjoy - 2008-10-14

Exactly. A real nurse is either an overweight, fat, 50+ lady with a nasty attitude or a gay bodybuilder. There is no way anybody will confuse these ladies with real nurses.

Cleaner82 - 2009-09-01

Earier this year my father had to go to UCLA for some very serious surgery. It was one of the most harrowing times of my life.

But he's okay now. And my point is that one of the nurses was really fucking hot.

Hooker - 2008-10-13

That's a whole lot of stupid in one video. Bravo.

Cube - 2008-10-14

This is sorta like that one King of the Hill episode.

And BTW: "res-tau-rant"

heyitslozeau - 2008-10-14

having worked in restaurants since i was 13 the only thing I see wrong with this is the fact that the nurses (obviously real nurses) are in stilleto heels, in my parts if you're in a kitchen you're required to wear non-slip shoes and for good reason, I dont understand how one of these real nurses hasn't slipped and broken their breasts (obviously real ones).

As far as the restaurant owner, It should be well within his rights (as long as he is honest about the products) to serve whatever he wants. What goes on in a private business is the business owner's prerogative. The state shouldn't have the right to ban smoking, or trans-fats or anything else for that matter.

charmlessman - 2008-10-14

Y'know what really grinds my gears??

Ageusiatic - 2008-10-14

Wouldn't it just solve everyone's problem if we just made a new word?

The old, bitter, hideous people who insert catheters can be "nurses", and those pretty young ladies who bring you your burger are "sexnurses".
