I think Hanson is one of the few musical groups ever to start off as kids and then continue as adults while progressing artistically without winding up an E! True Hollywood story. I like their music even if it is tepid, but I admire them for just the things you mentioned. They've done a lot for charities.

When I was doing work study as a DJ Sunday Mornings at the college radio station, I used to be forced to play these Christian Rock shows which would feature songs like "Broken Wings", Dave Matthews Band, and this song. Making absolutely sure nobody was around, I'd crank the monitors all the way up on this song and sing along at the top of my lungs.
