Actually, he was crazy. Crazy cartoon characters show they're crazy by acting like lethargic Jim Carrey's and doing bad impressions of celebrities kids don't know.

I'm pretty sure the last impression was Christian Slater. Or possibly Jack Nicholson. Or Luke Perry. Or some kind of Dennis Hopper.
