IrishWhiskey - 2008-09-22 I think its the whole part that happened after that qualifies him as a hero. You know, withstanding torture and captivity for years without giving in.
Of course it doesn't mean he knows how to "win wars", or that as a POW he could "never cheat", or that he isn't part of the economic elite, or that it in any way makes up for the moral cowardice and desperation he displayed in giving up his principles and integrity by embracing Rovian politics in order to win. But that doesn't make it right to diminish the heroism he did display back then.
