This isn't from the movie, this is just a proof-of-concept Spike Jonze made to show to investors. That kid isn't actually the actor who plays Max.

I think we'll have to give Spike Jonze the benefit of the doubt on this one. I do think it looks a lot better than John Lasseter's version, at least.

Great clip, but I sympathize with the poster's original commentary: frankly, it's a huge transgression to the spirit of the original book to try to market it to children. Let's not forget that it was Henry Miller's daring review of the novel for Playboy that helped topple "Naked Came The Stranger" from the top of the New York Times best seller list.

I'm not sure how to rate this. Great costumes but it looks creepy and the voice of the monster sucks.
