I never liked playing classical music when I was studying it. Only masochists and workaholics find it rewarding. Sure there might be a concerto or two you like to play as a violinist, but you better not step out in the light of day with it unless you are ready to be assaulted by judgments. The really good ones were born into it and you'll always have that glass ceiling above your head because you're not a prodigy. It's only by the grace of god that anyone gets any good without having their ego beaten to a pulp by the end of it.
Screw that. I jumped ship and went to a jazz school instead. Now when I play music, I actually have fun with it. What a concept.
