5 stars for nostalgia, since this was one of the first anime shows I ever watched.

I liked the live-action movie more, but that's probably because I saw it first.

This is one of the more underrated Japanese movie franchises. Both the anime and the live-action movies got a lot more visual style and fun than most would give them credit for.

One of my first anime too, never saw the live action. I really like the song as well.

I blame the Sci-Fi channel.

And "groovy" in Japanimation circles means what exactly?

I rented this on DVD a while ago just to see if it was still as good as I remembered, and yeah, it sure was. I love all the weird vehicle and weapon/gizmo designs, and extra super bonus points for the Toshiro Mifune-inspired bounty hunter who popped up every few episodes. Too bad the show didn't have a longer run.

Just finished watching this with a some buds. It can get slow, but the aesthetic, the heroine, and the action is good enough to warrant a watch.

Really enjoyed it.
