Oh, the hubris.
What a great game. I know people always talk about TIE Fighter, but I'll give FS2 the edge.

Awesome game, pity it didn't sell very well.

i remember the good old days of taking out capital ships in my one man fighter. damn shame the space flight sim has all but disappeared after freelancer.
|
FABIO2 - 2008-05-25 Probably because they all saw how awesome this game was yet it still didn't sell very well so they said, "Fuck! What does it TAKE?" and gave up making them.

garcet71283 - 2008-05-25 Project Sylpheed for the Xbox 360 actually wasn't a half-bad space game. Although it suffered from a sever case of anigay...it did a good job bringing me back to the days of killing whole fleets single-handedly.

This is the game neo-cons force their kids to play instead of doing their history homework.

I'm not impressed. Give me one Vic Viper, and I could take out three of those things without breaking a sweat.

FABIO2 - 2008-05-25 Not without 500 pod upgrades you don't.

This and TIE Fighter. Thank god for the Freespace OpenSource Project.

OH NO NOT THE SHIVANS
+1 star for Fabio submitting a really boring videogame video

FABIO2 - 2008-05-25 Imagine? It IS Clarence Boddicker!!!
And power to whatever crazy internet TV voting crusade grudge Sudan's going on about.

The ship is cool, but I think the most kickass was the Lucifer from Freespace 1.
That thing sent shivers down my spine every time it emerged from hyperspace.
And I almost cried when it sunk the Galatea.

craptacular - 2008-05-25
so what should i play first, this, or freelancer ?
|
garcet71283 - 2008-05-25 Freelancer.
Then this to remind you how much better Freespace is.

I was a Homeworld man myself. One of the best game soundtracks too.
|
garcet71283 - 2008-05-25 Kinda different genre, but Homeworld is the reason Adagio for Strings is my ringtone :D

I tried to play the FS2 demo back in the day, but I had a substandard rig and it crashed constantly. I would have bought the game otherwise.
THey need to get FS2 on Steam, post-haste. I would pay .99 for it in a heartbeat. You listening Chet? Pass it on.
|
glasseye - 2008-05-25 You'd pay for a game that's available for free?
|
FABIO2 - 2008-05-26 If it meant the creators would get some of that money, then yes.

I remember actually being disappointed when Descent: Freespace came out and it wasn't a proper "Descent" game like Descent I or II. Oh how naive I was, luckily Descent III came along a year later to teach me a lesson.
