how the mighty have fallen...

Camonk - 2008-05-21

I used to not really hate McCain, but lately his ignorance and utter hypocrisy have pissed me off real bad. Guy gives me a headache, now. Also, he is extremely old, and using the average American's knowledge of Iran as some kind of benchmark.

Randroid - 2008-05-21

All aboard the Straight Talk Express!

mouser - 2008-05-21

He's passes as retarded, clueless and idiot as Bush is. He's a perfect fit for the next president.

Oh. And he talks like Reagan. Wich is kinda cool actually.

Pillager - 2008-05-21

I wonder if Secret Service agents would have to change his depends?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-05-21

Okay, Mr. President, do you have a present for me tonight? Good, Mr. President! Woop, someone has some drool on his tie! Now if you could just sign these executive orders...oh who's a good President! Who wants apricots!

Evilhead - 2008-05-21

Scary. I mean, if this was a reporter quizzing him on some relatively insignificant country's leaders or foreign policy I can see him trying to cover his ass in this way, but fuck this is IRAN. One of the most critical situations in the world today in respect to US foreign policy. As someone who claims foreign policy to be one of his strong points he should know this shit backwards and forwards. I'd like to see this response in context though, as the previous part of the question might have helped to back him into this particular corner.

Camonk - 2008-05-21

And he uses the "Average American" as an excuse for not knowing. Nevermind that it's the president's job to educate the average American, or it ought to be. Goddammit McCain makes me mad.

C. Eloi Marx - 2008-05-21

The press is so enamoured with McCain that no matter how many times he blunders on softball foreign policy questions they will still parrot his position that he has great amounts of foreign policy experience.

If journalists continue to lob him meatballs he is going to eventually hit one out of the park. He's going to have an easy go at this election just like Bush had.

zatojones - 2008-05-21

He's like an echo of Bush.

baleen - 2008-05-21

For Obama's purposes, that's a very good thing.

Xenocide - 2008-05-21

The way his expression changes around :32 when he realizes he's fucked up is great.

Of course, he's not going to admit is ignorance because he's a confrontational old coot with PTSD.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-21

The gas tax thing wasn't so bright, either, but at least he isn't actually proposing raising the capital gains tax like Obama.

We're gonna lose either way this election.

baleen - 2008-05-21

A hundred year war that none of you people are willing to pay for. Very smart indeed!

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-21

yeah, because having a functioning economy won't help raise taxes. Dumbass.

Whitewater5 - 2008-05-21

i'm sure you are deeply affected by the capital gains tax, "Billy Buttsex"

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-21

Baleen, I don't know if you realize this, but we have the second highest corporate taxes in the industrialized world, at 35%, and that's BEFORE distributing earnings to employees and stockholders, who get taxed AGAIN. Making it tougher for investors to win on the stock market isn't going to help our economy because it'll mean less investments on something that's already risky as it is, and leaving those taxes where they are still means leaving the corporate taxes REALLY HIGH. Only a tard like Obama would raise capital gains taxes.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-21

and you're right, Whitewater! All those corporations you depend on don't need to be able to make money. They're only greedy capitalist leeches. We should all work in independent coffee shops or music stores like you, because that's all we need.

baleen - 2008-05-21

Billy, I don't know if you realize this, but we are a trillion dollars in debt (down from a trillion dollar surplus). I know you guys love hearing this. It makes your dicks soft to think about how much you have fucked over the economy while controlling all aspects of the government.

When the banks are rejuvenated there is a wave of fresh venture capital freshly available. Right now, banks are in the shithole. The taxpayers ARE going to bail the banks out of this shithole, just like they did after the last eight year Republican president. It was George Sr. who had to raise taxes to deal with this disaster. When that happened, surprise, the 90's boom followed, and Clinton was just following in his footsteps. Tons of venture capital was immediately available and investors had the largest and longest field day in history.

When the dollar gets weaker and weaker and wages do not grow accordingly (they haven't), then the poor get poorer and the rich get richer (which has happened).

Let's not speak of tards, shall we? You have little ground to stand on here.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2008-05-21

Who let fucking Larry Kudlow in here?

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-21

Okay okay okay... YOU ARE RIGHT. The debt is unbearable and has to be fixed. I just believe that fixing government spending is the way to do it (like Mccain says), not focusing on more ways to give an irresponsible government money.

So you're right in that respect, because the debt has to go.

baleen - 2008-05-21

It would require two decades of late 90's economic growth to naturally sprout out of this little eight years of embezzlement and war profiteering that we've gotten ourselves into. That is not going to happen, not with oil where it is, not with the food crisis. Basically, all the things that the GOP should have been doing after 9-11, with all of that leverage (transforming our energy policy, for instance) they did not do. Instead, they started two expensive wars, half-assedly mind you, and now someone else has to deal with it.

It's probably not going to be McCain.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-21

1) War profiteering?

Look up LOGCAP for info on military contracting, and why KBR won the contract. They'd already won all the major contracts in the 90's (which Clinton assured by overriding bidding processes, btw), and had plenty of experience since they'd done work putting out oil fires in the first Desert Storm. Can you please tell me which other company you would have used in their stead?

2) Late 90's economic growth was followed by early 2000's economic crash. It's the Tech-Wreck, dude, and it wasn't Bush's fault. Plus, a lot of the money came from all the bad credit floating around, which made it kind of a sham.

3) Last of all, it IS John Mccain, because the guy realizes that even according to government estimates, one in five government programs are almost completely ineffective, and that we need to shake the whole system down, evaluate it, and cut the bullshit in order to make YOUR money work better for you. Check his page out.

AgentOrange - 2008-05-21

Yeah Baleen, you should google John McCain.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2008-05-21

Republican Party 2008: "We'll Do Better This Time, Trust Us!" (TM)

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2008-05-21

Holy shit, Mr. Buttsex, that's some impressive blog plagiarism there. Mind sharing your sources with us?

baleen - 2008-05-21

KBR won all the major military contracts for the Iraq War in the 90's? Please, tell me more! That's pretty juicy...

futurebot - 2008-05-21

Hey Billy Buttsex, submit another Creationism video into the hopper so that everyone can shoot it down again. I thought that was pretty funny.

StanleyPain - 2008-05-21

Actually, the REAL Republican slogan for '08 is "The Change You Deserve" which is funnier than anything we could come up with.

Yes...that's right. After 8 years of fucking everything up, the Republicans, unwilling to admit to any mistakes whatsoever, will bring....change.

Senator_Unger - 2008-05-21

The key term is "you deserve" which means you will get exactly what you deserve, which is nothing, if you vote Republican again.

smoothbrain - 2008-05-21

Keep digging Billy!

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2008-05-21

"The Change You Deserve" is also the slogan for Effexor, an antidepressant. And the Republicans are still keeping it. You can't make this shit up.

baleen - 2008-05-21

Did you know that 1 in 5 government programs are ineffective! It's true! Not only is it true, it's a constant. So say you eliminated 20% of all government programs (particularly the ones with large Democrat-leaning employee unions, those have to go first damn it) there would STILL be 1 in 5 government programs that just have to go. The statistic is like fucking pi it's so universal. People in the government, like my pop who served his nation in the EPA for over a decade and worked 14 hours days during the most corrupt administration since Harding (Reagan's), these people, these terrible people, exist only to fuck you over and collect big pensions.

God I fucking hate you Billy Buttsex. You are exactly what is wrong with america, a country that I love to the point of crying.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-25

Baleen loves America so much that he wants it to completely change

Cleaner82 - 2008-05-26

I love my dad so much that I want him to keep killing himself with alchohol.

Lurchi - 2008-05-21

If you asked the average Iranians who their leader was, what would they say?

Brautwurst_Barbarian - 2008-05-21

Since they aren't going to be bombing anyone anytime soon, it is a rather moot point.

HURF BLURF DUH - 2008-05-21

Allah

delicatessen - 2008-05-21

That Kardashian chick has a big ass.

Honest Abe - 2008-05-21

most of these are for you

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-05-21

I wish his entire generation would just up and fucking die, already.

Dicknuts - 2008-05-21

+1

anvill - 2008-05-21

Please wear a Cardcaptors shirt when you assault the nursing homes. Otherwise we'll never properly attribute it.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-05-21

You don't need to assault them, just slip them all mickeys come election day.

sosage - 2008-05-21

I want to order a squadron of cockters on this man.

MrBuddy - 2008-05-21

I'm kinda disapointed. I also wanted to hear Obama say how he had visted all 57 states with one left to go, Alaska and Hawaii. http://youtube.com/watch?v=EpGH02DtIws

RomancingTrain - 2008-05-21

Politicians can't tell (bad) jokes because morons will take them seriously.

Jefka - 2008-05-21

His answer was sufficiently smug enough for this snafu not to hurt his campaign.

DK1987 - 2008-05-27

All three are making gaffes:
For Obama Kool-Aid Drinkers:
Obama told a Portland crowd that Iran doesn’t “pose a serious threat to us”-arguing that “tiny countries” with small defense budgets can’t do us harm– and then the next day, said, “I’ve made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave.”
