Yahtzee's a Suda fanboy, get over it.

Some people exist to create one truly great thing, and while nothing they make afterwards will ever be quite up to par, you can't hate them because they did, after all, create one truly great thing.

Suda 51 is one of those people. I haven't played NMH but no matter how bad it may be, he made Killer7, and nothing can change that.

Yahtzee has liked more games than he's disliked. His whole schtick is an illusion.

I like the "it's not a bad game; it's just mediocre" line he's broken out on at least two occasions now, probably more. A mediocre game _is_ a bad game.

uh, I'm pretty sure that's untrue, I'm sure he dislikes the vast majority of video games out there (reasonable, considering how much shit is out there).

i think he just tends to review the games that are generally considered to be rated over 8.0, probably because he doesn't want to be pinned down as another masochistic nerdball internet game reviewer who only analyzes games that are obviously shit, just so he can use the words "fucking terrible" alot.

it's really easy to tear apart bad games, which is why I can relate to how irritated he seems to get when people are like "DUDE STOP LIKING GAMES REVIEW SOLDIER OF FORTUNE PAYBACK"

I don't really care whether Yahtzee likes the game or not. He tends balance his own opinion and the reality of the game quite well I think.

Considering the definition of mediocre is "neither good or bad", I fail to see how that statement is valid. Are you one of those people who holds gaming to outrageous standards and thinks every new game should be perfectly constructed and completely groundbreaking?

I haven't played the game yet, but I felt this ZP was lacking.

His whole schtick has never been to hate games. It's been to review them while talking really fast along with silly pictures. It's great when he hates a game, but it also would get old fast if that's ALL he did.

He seems to make a big point of telling everyone that he always hates games all the time in a number of his reviews, so I'm willing to call it his schtick.

And you're taking the definition of mediocre way too literally, which I wasn't intending. Dead to Rights is, in my mind, the definition of a mediocre game. It's also really boring.
