Tags are wrong. Stallman has nothing to do with linux. He's the GNU and FSF founder.

This video probably explains why Linux caught on more than GNU did. There's only so much geekynes you can show before you become abshurd.

The Gnu/Linux insistence is annoying, but overall I can't fault the guy. His work kicks ass and I respect him for it.

I stay out of the gpl v2 vs v3 vs bsd license issues as well as the Linux vs. Gnu. Mp3 licensing is annoying too. It's all petty lawyer stuff.

Being hackable, free and non-corporate is what I care about.

GNU/Linux is the correct name for the OS. Linux is just the kernel. At least until Android, Linux and GNU both "caught on" exactly as much. Linux is accepted as a abbreviation for GNU/Linux. I don't think it's worth arguing about.

This is not the worst version of the free software song, that would be the version by the "GNU-Stallmans" at the end of some documentary that escapes me.
