What's with the red boxes?
|
Adham Nu'man - 2008-03-06 Obviously, they are the static electricity the description talks about.

I think all the squares do is highlight anything that moves. Also, working at a gas station must be really shitty. If you're not getting robbed you're getting set on fire. Maybe both at once

Only about 30 seconds of this video were necessary.

Actually, my dumb ass found this very educational. I can imagine having done this at some point in my life without the benefit of this vid. Thank you for saving my truck, LiveLeak!

Quick, put it out with the hose

Lothy - 2008-03-06
Out of curiosity, what happened here? Why would it have mattered if he put it on the ground?
|
|
RockBolt - 2008-03-06 The gas moving though the nozzle actually creates a charge, and in the bed of a truck there is no ground to equalize the charge. It is essentially a static charge creating machine. Sparks + gas vapors = this, every goddamn time. If it is on the ground, it is fine (grounded). Next time you are at the pump actually look at it, I guarantee there is a big warning label telling you not to do specifically this.

FABIO2 - 2008-03-07 ^ This shows the average intelligence of people who 3 starred this.

|
Lothy - 2008-03-07 Hey, there's a strict heirarchy for videos that show fires at gas stations. Now, if this guy had managed to set himself on fire and run around, that would have made it a four star video. If he set himself on fire, ran around, collapsed dead and then had someone steal his wallet, then that's five stars. I'd like to have given you more, but it's the law.

RockBolt - 2008-03-06
JESUS CHRIST. There is only one stick figure warning label that is plastered all over gas pumps, and it screams DO NOT FILL CONTAINERS IN YOUR TRUCK BED STUPID

Mad Struggle - 2008-03-07
These red boxes clearly feed off of suffering and destruction.
But they are a happy, good natured folk and they have won my heart with their happy little dance amongst the flames. I had often seen them on weather maps and wondered of their nature, now I know and love them.

Big Beef Burritos Supreme - 2008-03-07
The red boxes evidently guide the fire...
|
Valkor - 2008-03-07
Red boxes are more entertaining than the fire.
|
Udderdude - 2008-03-07
Oh, red boxes. Why do you taunt me so?

Interesting tidbit: I remember from class that one thing that greatly differenciates humans and computers cognitively is that computers can't tell if an object cut in half by something obscuring part of it is actually one or two objects. As evidenced by the red squares scanning the grey car that pulls in.
Thank you, college!!

So dousing a flame with gas DOESN'T put it out.
DON"T put salt in your eye!
