Having watched every installment of Jurassic Park, I'm still amazed by the texture of the dinosaurs skin, as it is no longer THEORETICAL!!!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-12-17

You know, I am actually touched by this discovery. This is such a rare and wonderful thing. It's extraordinary. Go go, evolutionary scientists! Piecing the genetic map together! Woo!

B_Ko - 2007-12-17

Well, color me gobsmacked.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-12-17

Do you have any dinosaur books at home? Have you seen the ones at the book store? Guess what? They're all obsolete.

Screwtape - 2007-12-18

Wrong! This research falls far short of disproving the skin pigment of all the dinosaurs in my coloring books.

Adramelech - 2007-12-17

The arguments coming from Creationists over this thing are hysterical. Also kinda disappointed that dinosaurs didn't turn out to have pink polka dot colors.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-12-17

Hysterical denial or hysterical "we are so right, dinos just lived alongside Pilgrims and cowboys"?

theFlu - 2007-12-17

there's proof dinosaurs lived alongside giants, because, see, the air was far more oxygen rich. So, everything grew larger than ever, and people could last thousands of years because there was so much oxygen in the air

Adramelech - 2007-12-17

The latter. Apparently most Young Earth blogs and newsletters are under the impression that the dinosaur is literally mummified with preserved soft tissue, not a fossilized "mummy". Of course, proving that the creature must have died in the very recent Flood.

They also use the term "dragon" instead of dinosaur way too much.

CuteLucca - 2007-12-17

There goes my theory that dinosaur skin was made of delicious candy.

EvilHomer - 2007-12-17

Maybe dinosaur candy was just scalier than what we're used to?

Also, I'm torn between childlike joy at such a mind-blowingly awesome discovery, and impotent rage that it was made by a overachieving teenager with rich parents. Also, I think I might know the fucker; he's now the same age and goes to the same school as my girlfriend.

EvilHomer - 2007-12-17

Also, I should really stop saying also.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-12-17

I guess it doesn't help that he's a rather hunky young scientist.

Hugo Gorilla - 2007-12-17

Aw, man. A lousy herbivore? Jeez.

RandomFerret - 2008-02-25

You're always gonna find more boring ones than cool ones because there's always gonna be more of them. It's science.
