How come nobody showed up to cheer me on when I beat Quake 3? *sigh*

Anyone else notice that "moon" was about 500 feet across?

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-12-09

Hold on, I find that it's easier to take bad news when the person delivering it checks your power level while doing so.

coprolalia - 2007-12-09

Get the star, Jimmy.

FABIO2 - 2007-12-09

This wasn't very well done.

Fuck the haters, this movie was fucking amazing.

Also: a bonus on the DVD includes interviews with some of the weirdest nerds about the Cray super computer they used to animate the film. At one point someone figured out a way to use multiple light sources and the entire team went apeshit.

There is also a screen test for the original star wars with a group of X-wing fighters doing some barrel rolls. It looked good even by todays standards. Lucas eventually rejected it as too expensive and time consuming. The fucking prick.

And Dan O'Herlihy as mugging Lizardman.

Not enough of Robert Preston basically playing an alien Harold Hill.

Roachbud - 2007-12-09

Even the dog and the cat knew they were witnessing history when he beat that video game

"We're locked into the moon's gravitational pull! What do we do?"

God, I loved this movie when I was a kid.

The laser brain drill fucked with my head. That guy needed an oscar for the yowling.

Hooper_X - 2008-08-29

No way. This movie was awesome. It was everything it was supposed to be, i.e., a post-Star Wars adolescent fantasy trip. Good enough that the plot is pretty firmly entrenched in people's minds, even if they don't remember the specifics... I know when it came out that the military was using video games to train people, there were some "Last Starfighter" cracks from the various news outlets.

I'm half surprised there hasn't been a remake or a "reimagining" yet.
