I love how Romney would be the hands-down favorite of the values crowd, and probably clinch the nomination, if he weren't the wrong flavor of Christian.

Plus, Satan as Jesus' brother? That's a great plot twist.

Screwtape - 2007-11-16

That's not all; once you die you don't go to heaven, but you and your wive(s) will become kings of your own planet!

sheikurbouti - 2007-11-16

My own harem and planet? Celestialicious!

threads - 2007-11-16

Just so I can sleep tonight, someone tell me these people are a very small minority that have no real power in my country. Please tell me I'm not in any sort of danger. Please tell me cooler heads will prevail next year and our brief sojourn in to nearly becoming a third world dictatorship was all just a bad dream.

These people are the reason Monopoly Money is worth more than my paycheck. They equate respectable, educated people with bestiality enthusiasts due to a naturally occurring sexual preference.
They believe logical discourse on the state of faith will land you in an eternal lake of fire.

Please, America. Please stop this shit. Right the fuck now. You're turning me in to a god damn hippie and I don't fucking like it one bit.

Don't make me become a hippie.

SolRo - 2007-11-16

They are the biggest, stupidest, and most important swing voter block on the (R)etarded side.

Though right now they are fractured due to republicans not carrying out their shitzo insane plans for america and the world in the past 8 years.

The way it realy breaks down is that these idiots want a theocracy while conservatives controlling the party want to either distroy the government, or turn it into a republican run bastard child of dictatorship and anarchistic capitalism.

asian hick - 2007-11-16

The media tends to show the extremists. In actuality, not even a majority of core white evangelicals believe in a total ban on abortion.

The worrysome element is how dedicated the crazies tend to be to their cause.

Try "Onward Christian Soldiers" by Wilcox and Larson for an objective non-hysterical-screed assessment of the Religious Right.

theSnake - 2007-11-16

This is the biggest lie and I hear it get repeated over and over: that there are crazies on both sides and the media focuses on them.

Last I checked, there wasn't a Communist left convention that all the Democratic candidates go to speak at.

There aren't left wing pundits calling for the killing of non-seculars and the dismantlement of the constitution that get the airplay of a Coulter.

Stop believing this "both sides have crazy people lol" bullshit. There may be insane left wing people but the only attention they get is from Fox News and Limbaugh trying to prop them up as their liberal counterparts, except their counterparts don't have TV networks and daily radio shows.

Stopheles - 2007-11-16

Exactly, Snake. There IS a fringe left, but it's an actual fringe, marginalized not only by the mainstream media but also by the vast majority of 'progressive' news and commentary outlets (and yet that phrase, "fringe left,' is used by Fox News to describe the hosts of Air America Radio, fer chrissakes).

Xenocide - 2007-11-16

The thing about these idiots is that not even their own party takes them seriously. Even the Bushies, who are among the most conservative bunch of douchebags ever to control the white house, mostly see them as a bunch of crazies to be exploited for votes. Especially since it's so easy to get them riled up: just yell "MUSLIMS AND GAYS!" into a microphone over and over again. The fundies matter, but not as much as they think they do.

The worry, of course, is that we could elect someone who really DOES rake these people seriously. However this is looking less and less likely as part of the values crowd's frustration is that most of the Republican field is made up of moderates this time around. Like I said, Romney would be their golden boy if not for his being Mormon. This amuses me to no end because they're letting their own intolerance screw them out of a viable candidate.

Aubrey McFate - 2007-11-16

Get in that groove!

CornOnTheCabre - 2007-11-16

WOO! HOLOCAUST!

kingarthur - 2007-11-16

Reminding myself to get moving on those Italian citizenship papers...

dr_rock - 2007-11-16

Is that a fascism joke?

Roachbud - 2007-11-16

Mike Huckabee seems nice, but then he says some batshit insane thing like the aborted babies would pick fruit and work in canning factories. At least Rudy will be their nominee and these people will have to shut to the fuck up or go for a third party and hand the white house to the Democrats.

Blaise - 2007-11-16

I love this season's Republican Primary.

Talk Radio and Fox news have gotten used to telling only one side of a story (Bush's) for the last six years. Now that they are "covering" a Republican Primary, each with their own horse (Fox/Hannity = Giuliani, Hewitt = Romney, Ignrahm = Thompson), they don't have the luxury of their audience only hearing one set of RNC talking points. I am amazed at the degree to which these conservative talking heads will slander fellow Repub. candidates (McCain, Romney, Huckabee, and Paul all getting the worst of it).

I actually heard a listener argue with a talking head "If its OK to not vote for a muslim, why can't I discriminate against a Mormon as well" ... LOL

The result is reasonable Republicans are starting to understand just how biased their media outlets are.

RNC ... enjoy reaping what you have sown.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-11-16

Inbetween thick clouds of denial, particularly with that guy who said he knew Larry Craig, are brief glimpses of understanding that they've screwed themselves over so badly.

sosage - 2007-11-16

Just like how they deal with their homosexual feelings, they will suppress that understanding and cork it up in a bottle way down deep and try to forget about it.

Enjoy - 2007-11-16

I found every view in this video quite agreeable. Minus 4 stars for that snide host though.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-11-16

You awful, awful man.

Rudy - 2007-11-16

So you also believe that bathrooms should be segregated?

minimalist - 2007-11-16

Oh Enjoy, what wacky up-riling thing won't you say

Aubrey McFate - 2007-11-16

I am a tag PROPHET, baby

asian hick - 2007-11-16

OK. Disregard my above comment.

Abortion: The number one killer of black women between the ages of 25-34.

My God, people. What have we done?

cognitivedissonance - 2007-11-16

Better to be aborted than paid illegal immigrant wages.

charmlessman - 2007-11-16

Abortion is the #1 killer of black women ages 25 - 34? You can still abort a 34 year old black women?

Seriously, though, that's WAAAAAAY inaccurate. According to the CDC (http://www.cdc.gov/women/lcod/04black.pdf) the number one killer of black women 25 - 34 is HIV. Followed by injuries, cancer, heart disease and homicide. The 6th (at 3.4%) is pregnancy complications, which I supposed can include botched abortions, but is more likely death while giving birth.

Ohhh the lies they tell.

baleen - 2007-11-16

Five month old black fetuses can be women or didn't you get the memo?

Lindner - 2007-11-17

She said BETWEEN ages 25-34. Reading comprehension for the win. Check that memo again.

Daughters of Uzbek - 2007-11-16

I only wish they could ALL win.

citrusmirakel - 2007-11-17

Chalkdust - 2007-12-08

Rumor: God's law enhances organizing skills.

RUMOR.

Chalkdust - 2007-12-08

Also, I -knew- I'd heard that bullshit correlation between abortions, the workforce and illegal immegration before...
