Caminante Nocturno - 2007-09-07

All things considered, the first film was damned funny.

I look at Austin Powers the same way I look at the Pink Panther series. First one was great and original for its time, second was funny but it had been done before, third and beyond felt forced and unfunny.

Seconded...the awesome thing about the first movie was it totally came out of left field.

And actually, I don't even remember the first movie being all that popular when it first came out...you'd see handfuls of nerds running around quoting it, like the same types of people who spew lines from "Monty Python And The Holy Grail" but that was about it.
It became a hit when it came out on video though.

I didn't think you were right but you are.

Yep, Austin Powers Part I was a cult movie until part II came out and it went mainstream. This was the period in which Dr. Evil impressions were cool.

Thank goodness there was never a sequel to The Big Lebowski.

LetsFistAgain - 2007-09-08

Fuck yes. Song is called "Soul Bossanova" by the almighty Quincy Jones before he fucked off and started producing Michael Jackson.

Innocent Bystander - 2007-09-08

Some of this taken from either Help or A Hard Day's Night. I forget which.

And yes Quincy Jones is the man. And please don't disrespect the production on Thriller and Off The Wall.
