I don't get it. Someone tell me how this is supposed to be practical.

zatojones - 2007-08-24

You see, most guns just shoot a few bullet. This one shoots many more.

Actually, the non-mechanical nature of the system makes it much more reliable.

Dr. Lobotomy - 2007-08-24

Sometimes you just need to put a million rounds or, as I understood from the video, bees in a really small target area then spend a long time reloading... You know, if your opponent is a retard launching one anti-ship at a time, standing single-file or allergic to bee stings.

FABIO2 - 2007-09-14

Yeah, that's what I think every time I see it. How is this more practical than existing stuff that can actually keep the fire up?

Syd Midnight - 2007-11-02

The weapon shown here was a crude proof-of-concept, but its unique ammo and firing method has a ton of applications. It could be used to fire 5-10 bullets at a time from a more practical chaingun design, which would significantly increase the number of bullets it puts in the air.

I wonder what happens if you hit it with a microwave burst.
I'll stick to my board with a nail in it, thanks.

5 seconds of film, 8 minutes of bad computer graphics. Neat idea but methinks this is not the company that will actually develop this technology.

Andonyx - 2007-08-24

This is a very old investor film. They have been in business now for nearly a decade and they have already developed multiple systems based on the electrical charge technology including a handgun that is actually for sale.

They constantly court various militaries to try and sell their Active Area Denial systems. My understanding is that they have no contracts as of yet.

Maxville - 2007-08-24

Bah research, I just want to see shit explode.

Xiphias - 2007-08-24

No, andonyx, I am sure we, the internet, know better than the industry.

Udderdude - 2007-08-24

Developed by Cave.

Adramelech - 2007-08-24

This is pretty old technology from Australia I believe. There are other videos on YouTube of the actual weapons in action, but there's still a lot of work to be done before this becomes contracted and practical.

SolRo - 2007-08-24

Didn't know that Al Gore sold weapon systems.

Merzbau - 2007-08-24

eet costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire dis weapon for TWELVE SECONDS

kingarthur - 2007-08-24

Really? Then I think their target market needs to be either the absurd dandy blue blood or the wealthy republican asshole markets.

garcet71283 - 2007-08-24

I hear they are looking at it primarily for anti-aircraft applications. Basically, fill the sky up with lead.

Also, the man-portable version works quite well. Basically, you can have pistols that can fire up to 4 rounds in the same time it takes to fire one.

Jeriko-1 - 2007-11-18

Hooray for Robocop gun!

Shion - 2007-08-25

Wall of lead!

Big Muddy - 2007-09-13

The destruction of Jared-Syn is finally possible!

And the best IREM game for NES.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-11-01

The Mothership - 2020-06-26
