I don't see what the problem is, ultimately. Disney has been raping the public domain for decades. It's no worse than what they did to "Hunchback of Notre Dame".

Xiphias - 2007-07-30 Disney sanitizes stories and makes them into cartoons, they don't inject a public-domain work into a robot story to give it a false air of legitimacy. It's still a robot/elf-ear adventure, it's just got a famous name to make dorks feel smarter about it.

Xenocide - 2007-07-30 Actually, I think the air of legitimacy comes from the art direction and animation quality, which, in fairness, are amazing. Youtube quality video hardly does it justice.
The writing and plot are just as bad as you'd expect, though. I suggest watching the show on mute.
