Best boss ever, and damn could they ever write a show back then.

Quad9Damage - 2007-07-23 Season 8 is the last great season.

"Ever seen a guy say goodbye to a shoe?"
"Yes, once."
|
Herr Matthias - 2007-07-22
"Want some cream?" "Ehhhh....no."

The multiple hammock store line always makes me laugh hysterically.

Dr. Lobotomy - 2007-07-22
My dream is to one day have one of those world map/giant video phone thing.
That and a Scald button.

hentaiwolf - 2007-07-22
Somebody ate part of my lunch.

KnowFuture - 2007-07-22
Homer and Scorpio walking in place on the treadmill followed immediately by both of them standing there, yet moving, on the moving sidewalk thingy=one of the most subtle, awesome sight gags I've ever seen.
|
Exegesis_Saves - 2007-07-23
Fun fact: the "cream" line was removed from many of the reruns.
|
Quad9Damage - 2007-07-23 Cut out in syndication, yes. Most likely to make room for commercials, not because of content. Although that joke is very, very dirty.
|
oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2007-07-23
Fun fact: my dad laughed so hard at the "Homer, on your way out if you could kill somebody it would help me a lot" line that we had to give him water and watch him closely for a while to see that he didn't pass out.

Camonk - 2007-07-23
See. everybody who complains that people always talk about how this show has declined. This is what we're talking about. This eight minutes would be two shows' worth of jokes to the writers nowadays, each one stretched beyond its ability to function.
|
Caminante Nocturno - 2007-07-23
"Nobody ever chooses Italy" is the line that always makes me laugh.

simon666 - 2007-07-23
relax homer, at globex we don't even believe in walls. i didn't even give you my coat!
but seriously i must agree with the others here. this is why the simpsons WERE good. i am both nostalgic and saddened. oh cruel world, why must you torture me so.
|
Teldin - 2007-07-23
Probably my favorite Simpsons episode ever. Everything is just pure gold.
|
kthorjensen - 2007-07-23
One of the best of all time. Just crammed full of gags.
|
RockBolt - 2007-07-23
YES! The whole damn episode is hilarious, but the first time I saw Homer getting the Denver Broncos I doubled over laughing so hard I started crying (I'm from Denver, sigh)
|
Emcee - 2007-07-23
Oh, the hammock district!
|
Senator_Unger - 2007-07-23
The James Bond scene is one of my favorite parts of the whole series. Who hasn't wanted to see Bond get taken down by some generic flunky?
|
revdrew - 2007-07-23
Again: THE HAMMOCK DISTRICT. I use variations on this line whenever I get a chance.

|
Xiphias - 2007-07-23
This is a great episode.
|
craptacular - 2007-07-23
"awwww, the denver broncos?!" possibly dan's best line reading ever ?
|
StanleyPain - 2007-07-23
This is pretty much the last full-episode of Simpsons I actually sat down and made time to watch when it originally aired. After it was over, I was convinced Simpsons had pretty much peaked and could never really improve unless the writers understood why this episode worked...because it totally abandoned the cliches of the usual episode and had bigger side-characters (Scorpio being the obvious).
I think this episode is pretty much the high watermark of the show. Not the best, or anything like that, but certainly the icon of where the beginning of the end really started.

futurebot - 2007-07-24
"Oh my god, the 59th street bridge!"
"Maybe it just collapsed on its own..."
"We can't take that chance."
"You always say that! I want to take a chance!"
|
Mayberry Pancakes - 2007-07-25
I never watched the Simpsons until after it was way past its prime, and it amazes me how many jokes they crammed into these episodes. Wow.
|
athodyd - 2007-07-28
"Let 'em go! You'll stay here with me! We'll go bowling!" BOOM
|
Portaxx - 2007-07-28
Homer suspects something is amiss when he notices a bikini babe crushing a soldier's neck with her legs.
|
OgreMkIV - 2007-07-30
Awesomeness.
|
AgentOrange - 2007-08-14
This is the unfiltered pure Simpsons fun and the peak of the entire series. Also the peak for Albert Brooks.
|
fluffy - 2007-08-17
I should find this whole episode to watch. I can't believe I've never seen it before.
|
mouser - 2007-08-28
-4 stars because most of you can only come up with quotes from the referenced video.
|
|
|
|
tamago - 2007-09-04
Oh fuck you Mouser. What a stupid reason to be giving this four stars.
|
tamago - 2007-09-05 Ooops, I mean taking away four stars.
