i played the first 4 because they were dumb/fun games but never understood the weird obsession people have with it. finding the easter eggs was fun. probably the best thing about the games.

I found the games annoying. The mechanics (at least in the first games) attempt to 'check mate' the player creating a situation where the game becomes unwinnable early on if one mistake is made. You can either wait for the dumb bear to show up and kill you since there's now no way for the dumb bear to show up and kill you... Or you can just reset when a shutter is disabled. (Because once a shutter is disabled winning is impossible.) Then in the second game they double down on it by making a character that kills your flashlight. If the games factored in some way to recover if you're quick it would have made a difference.
