the version of this which is streamable currently has no music, which makes it even more unsettling. long stretches of it are just slient.

I really want to see a scene where they start fucking right before the sun comes up and he transforms back into a dog mid coitus. You know shes fucking that dog during the day.

An actual adult talking dog movie! It's like werewolf fiction tamed down to a domestic dog.

This movie's IMDb trivia page is wild.

Holy shit you weren't kidding. Two choice trivia tidbits:

> "The story behind the film was writer-director Fen Tian was living in China and really wanted to make movies. She wrote this script, took it around to find funding and everyone turned her down. She then took it to the priest at her local church for funding. She lied to the priest telling him it was about a woman who uses the power of Jesus to find love. He gives her $15,000 to make the movie under one condition -that he sees the finished product before its released. Tian agreed and went to the U.S. to make her movie. After filming, the priest flew to the U.S. to see the movie and found out what it really was. He was very upset and demanded his money back."

> "The two lead actors, Jana Camp and Aneese Khamo, had met on the set of this film, fell in love and gotten married on November 11, 2011. They have a child together. They both quit acting. Camp now goes by Jana Khamo and she now works as Head of Digital & Social Strategy for syndicated Fox television programs. [They are both] extremely embarrassed by this film and do not like talking about it."

> "The actor who played the dog had his lines recorded in an upstairs office in The Comedy Store in West Hollywood, CA. It was done on a cassette recorder with a microphone attached. During this time, he was working as an office clerk and between takes would make phone calls to comedians to tell them when their spots were."

All I saw were mock reviews and trivia, a style that was launched by a video review on Youtube apparently, so now everything you read on Love On A Leash's IMDB is absurdist.

I think I'm going to have a watch party with a friend on saturday night. From the trailer, he thought it was recorded on iPhones.

I previewed Love On A Leash, and about 5 minutes in, there's a long shot down a street with a billboard for a radio station, '870AM, The Talk Of LA', while the dog had been talking all along. Could the film makers have been that clever?

That's some Eric Roberts talking cat(?!!!) quality voice work.

Boomer The Dog - 2022-09-27

I watched it, worse than A Talking Cat?!'s voicing, voice dynamics are all over, with hard cuts and background noise.
