This is so stupid.

This was a sort of interesting point of view.

I agree that people asking "Why aren't the Russian people stopping the war?" is silly and naive. We should be asking "why and how *would* they?" Eg. I have mentioned Irag invasion which went on for years and most Americans barely knew what was even happening, but of course if asked they would support it by default cus USA #1.

Also I think it's a fair point that Russians have *never* had freedom. They went from Czars and serfdom, to totalitarian red czars, to oligarchs (green czars?).

Saying that Russians just try and get through their lives, do their job, obey the authorities, and don't bother themselves about ethics and so on, is an utterly redundant thing to say. As that is exactly how almost every person in every country operates also.

I disagree with his point that Russians haven't bled for freedom. They bled a lot during the communist revolution and afterwards when every other country attacked them after the revolution succeeded. Unfortunately they were duped and didn't gain any freedom or egality, but they certainly fought for it and bled.

I like the whole 'military with a state' description. Never heard it described like that.
