FLCL is complete weebcentric garbage. Totally hollow... Although currently the overall theme of flcl is very topical and relevant these days.

EVA comes out on top even with the melodrama. The End of Eva movie makes all the insanity worthwhile.

Thousands of years later, a science genius is awakened and works out a chemical formula for waking others. Unfortunately, he's forced to wake an MMA master to help fight off some lions.

The MMA guy turns out to be an anarcho primitive who doesn't want the world back the way it was. He only wants to revive the "strong" and keep humanity in a primitive state.

Blood Blockade Battlefront - inter dimensional monsters invade New York, and New York just assimilates them into its every day society. Action/comedy show.

Vinland Saga - Anime Vikings. Historical-ish action/drama.

Madoka Magica - cutesy magica girl show. Not really but just watch it without looking up spoilers, you’ll enjoy it more that way
