Mom loved trashy paperbacks and tried to keep them hidden from me in boxes.

But I found them.

I would sneak out the ones with lurid titles and/or covers. I think I read the Richard Matheson novel when I was about 10 and saw the movie a few years later.

It remains one of my favorite Halloween flicks.

I used to like "The Amityville Horror" until I learned what shitheels the Warrens were.

1970s, actually.

I take it back, you're right.

This might be the oldest horror movie I can think of that still holds up as scary.

House on Haunted Hill is still entertaining, but it's more Vincent Price than any actual scares.

When I show it to people who haven't seen it before, that one scene always scares the shit out of them.

You know what scene I'm talking about.

I don't.

I remember general creepiness, a cat, the nun getting naked, and the end.

Binro the Heretic - 2020-10-19

Sorry. I was talking about "The House on Haunted Hill."

So was I. The nun getting naked in Legend of Hell House is all I can remember while watching The House on Haunted Hill.

the scenes with vincent and his (movie) wife are really the best stuff in Haunted Hill, I want to say priceless, but..
