One thing I admire about Cher is that over the years, she's continued to study and work on her voice. In Mama Mia: Here We Go Again, , which is a pretty tepid sequel to one of my favorite guilty pleasures, Cher shows up 10 minutes before the end.
Llike many sugically remastered 70somethings, she looks attractive, but not exactly human. But then, she sings "Fernando". It's my least favorite Abba song, and the pretext for the musical number is as flimsy and elaborate as you'd expect, but her voice cuts throgh the previous hour and a half of singing. Musically, she's taking us to another level. She sounds way better now than she did in 1978.
