everyone feel like that

this is some of the best actual coverage I've seen

Good on him.

The coverage of the protests is shockingly bad. Even leaving aside all the Sinclair and Murdoch media ignoring 10,000 people getting beaten and gassed for exercising their constitutional rights to whine about how Target got damaged by ANTIFA, very little of the message of the protesters is getting airtime, nor is much of anything that's not violence against the media or police.

The kids in the streets here have more informed and less dumb takes than most of the pundits I've seen talking about this.

There's a real divide between people getting their news from the internet and people who watch the TV news and read the NYT and WaPo in their perception of the protests.

The Post and Times are WAAAAY better than TV news.

Gonzo journalists -> NYT/WaPo -> TV -> FOX

Yhttps://www.startribune.com/minneapolis-st-paul-buildings-are-dam aged-looted-after-george-floyd-protests-riots/569930671/

“As of Friday night, at least 530 businesses across the Twin Cities had been vandalized, looted or had doors and windows smashed. Some have been reduced to rubble, and at least 67 have been destroyed completely by fire. Others have...extensive water damage or severe fire damage.”

Already at least one local manufacturer has announced his intention to uproot from the city after his plant was burned down, and he is probably the first of many most likely. It's not just windows, its permanent jobs that are destroyed. Sure the people will still live through it but there will be rampant joblessness and poverty in the area but they can still vote, so that's all that'll really matters to their local government.

Yeah, sure though, morons are still saying "Heh, can you believe these people upset that the Autozone had a broken window?" which usually goes in hands with opinions like "I guess insurance will cover it, it's just a building, etc."

Is Reagan's pipefitter uprooting too?

I feel that it's worth noting that everything that got lit on fire was within a block or two of the Third Police Precinct, for conext. Sucks that the library got lit-up but more novels from the last century were written by neurotic, privileged white bois. Jonathan Livingston Seagull? No thank you.
