@JHM Thanks! Funny thing is I don’t hate Brawndo. I suspect he’s quite young. On a good day he’s thoughtful and listens; on a bad day... well. Anyway I hope not to hate anybody—even a certain President I only want to “hate” in his capacity as a public figure; as an individual human he’s a tragic figure like a meth addict or Michael Jackson.

No, Brawndo isn't that bad. He's just an obvious choice to use as cannon fodder for my joke. But Brawndo's Islamaphobia seems a lot more real and fleshed out than SolRo's supposed antisemetism. (I don't know how to spell it, either).

Here's my opinion, which you are under no obligation to care about: I think you're wrong about SolRo being an antisemite. But he really does a terrible job of defending himself. He tends to use the same "I don't see race" rebuttals that an antisemite might use. He's not dumb, (unless he's fooled me, and, frankly, I'm not always hard to fool). You should consider the possibility that he may be doing it on purpose as a troll.

This back and forth seems unnecessary, but if you guys are having fun, have at it. You seem to be on the same side in the election, and that's what really matters right now.

We do disagree on that. :–) I’m probably extra sensitised to this living in the UK, where Jewish families really have been the targets of death threats by people who consider themselves good respectable Labour members. The racist trope of the evil rich Jew, the only-loual-to-Israel Jew is still popular in some “socialist” circles. It’s not cool, and I hope Mr Starmer is true to his word about ending the winking tolerance for it.
